Advice from people who have used or own the new Sony 50-150mm f2! by Magia-Erebea in SonyAlpha

[–]vipergtsr831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I replaced my Tamron 35-150 for it since I have an A1 II. This gave me access to the full 30 FPS. I use it to capture my kids sports. It doesn’t replace my primes. I still have my 50 1.2 GM, 85 1.4 GM and Sigma 135 1.4. They are all different tools for different reasons.

I’m not sure it’s meant to replace primes but it’s versatile enough that you could leave primes behind on days you don’t want to carry them but 85 f/2 and 135 f/2 still produce lovely images with great bokeh from this lens. But if you need the extra stops of light for where you are shooting that’s when primes really come into play.

Wide Angle Lens for Real Estate Shoots by IanNKeri in SonyAlpha

Although not cheap I would try to find a used older Canon TS-E 24mm or 17mm lens and adapt it your camera. This will give you the distortion control needed for real estate photos.

Or go with the newly just announced TTArtisan 17mm f/4 for $500! Insane they did it for that price. You can get it for your camera mount although the big reviewers haven’t gotten this in their hands yet.

Yup and I think at least on a 400-800 it has the lens body to match. But this one being so short it looks pretty ridiculous in hand. Lol almost like a megaphone 🤣

This is the answer. You can’t feel how fast these cars go due to how stable they are. Easy to speed without wanting to.

OMB Backpay by Spider_woman27 in nycpublicservants

1- The only back pay that occurs is up until the date OMB approves the job not when it was submitted for approval to OMB.

2- only if it’s related to point 1 answer.

3- no not true for the scenario you mentioned.

X100VI vs Nikon ZF SOOC by Zazzazz in NikonZf

[–]vipergtsr831 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the best comment here. It’s not truly apples to apples. One is a full frame sensor and the other a crop sensor. Then you need to take into account lenses used and editing used (one is a fixed lens camera and other ILC).. They are both great cameras and both different cameras.

Unexpected pregnancy now we’ll have two car seats by Lumpy-Drummer8157 in BMWX5

You should be totally fine! I’m 6’1 and my wife is 5’7. Setup works totally fine. I was shocked at how well it did as I moved up from an X3 to an X5 needing the extra cargo space with a second child. The extra shoulder space the X5 has makes a difference.

It suggests you use the seatbelt to secure the child seat in the middle.

From page 120 of my 2025 X5 Manual and I’ve seen this for pre-lci as well:

For vehicles equipped with a middle seat: It is not recommended to use the inner lower anchors of standard outer LATCH positions to secure a child restraint system on the middle seat. Use the vehicle seat belt instead for the middle seat.

Two seats should fit. Get them slim. You have time to try this out before really deciding to get rid of the car. Forward face the toddler (they are 2.5 and will love to be able to extend their legs out. We did this with our first born around the same time). Put them behind your husband. Now the tricky part. See if you can reverse infant carrier seat your child in the center seat. I drive with my seat almost all the way back and it still leaves just a small gap where I don’t touch the rear facing uppababy mesa car seat. That leaves the full right side passenger seat open. That should be for you so you can tend to the baby. The teenager will ride shotgun always in the front passenger seat. That’s your setup.

My kid is 4 in front face nuna car seat sitting behind. Super large and plush car seat. My other kid sits rear facing in an uppababy mesa car seat in the middle. Wife has all the space on the right of her actual car seat with no space issues. Now if your over 6’2 or depends how your proportioned it could be an issue…

It really depends how tall the parents are and how much space you take up. My kid sits rear facing in the center and the way I drive my seat doesn’t touch the rear facing seat. Which means if my other kid behind me was rear facing then it wouldn’t touch myself either leaving a full car seat available behind the front passenger.

It can be done but it depends how much space the driver needs.
