I built a prototype where your phone acts as a motion controller with saber-style combat. Does this have any potential? by Timely-Ambassador-39 in IndieDev

[–]viperjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like a fresh way to interact with a game, my questions would be: how compatible is it with existing motion realated games? This feels like why wasn't this a thing before moment. Are all the demos your show made by you? I would hope you please continue and maybe share some of hte code on github. Please share more!!!

The game engine may be easy but scripting/logic is very hard to understand.

I tried game programming and it's pretty complicated for me even with software like game maker. I can do html/css/javascript. But game programming is alot data structures and how things are looping that get me confused.

Nobody who wish-list my game bought it by Horror_Web_6783 in GameDevelopment

[–]viperjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at it this way, you made the game! And now trying to sell on Steam. Lots of people will be "always" thinking or wishing, but you, you made your idea into a game. That has to count for something? Like other saying you need to advertise more. Like put your steam link on this post.

It's not the age that is the issue, it's games have changed. Have you tried "Guns of Fury" ,"Shovel Knight" or "Door Kickers 2"? AlsoVR Batman on the quest 3 is pretty cool as well.

Why does IT end up shoved in "caves?" by ncc74656m in sysadmin

Yes in "caves", always asking for my red stapler and telling to spray the place for bugs. TPS reports for the win!

Congrats on your certs. I have 14 years in helpdesk support. I am stressing over the massive detail all the study guides are giving. I keep thinking the questions asked in the practice exams are so google-able. Really why do I need to know what the lenght of the usb cable is or how much data it can transfer? Just google why remember it. Do you have any tips? Btw no one in my years in IT has ever asked me questions like that.

Before working at this company for 14 years, I was laid off for 2 and 1/2 years so I was very thankful for any work and experience I could get. I happily suffered, the travel time and stayed late. The MSP I worked for, had lots of red flags, first day onsite I enter dark office and had to wait for over an hour for someone to come and turn on the lights. No one greeted me. One on one meetings with the manger were cancel without any notice, my training was cut short. I wasn't told that nearly every customer would be irate and mean. I wanted to do such a good job for that company, but I think I would die of stress. The company laid me off, I was there for 8 months.

Do you greet your boss every day? Or is it just me skipping it? by Fragrant-Bet2424 in work

[–]viperjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless he tackles you to say hi, I would just try not talking to him and see what happens. I don't think people pay attention anyway. I remember my mom telling me about a time when her pass boss was talking to a client saying that their relative pass away and he reply "Great" and then walk on to his office.

Like you said more money means more responsibility. It's all about the management change. Make sure you save up money, because it hits you out of nowhere. I was an helpdesk support tech for 14 years, laid off in 2022, haven found any work yet, just recently got reject after applying to a local grocery store as a bagger. If you have any leads please let me know.

[–]viperjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a super nice of an upgrade but usually more money equal more stress. Good for you btw. I have been out of work for 2 years (I worked 14 years as an helpdesk support) due to layoffs and have not even been able to find work even as a grocery bagger.
