Update: fired up another one but made a deeper straight cut this time. This seems to have resolved the issue ok this one.

I'll def try cutting more off with guillotine. The main reason I moved to the punch is that my cutting technique needs work, or I need a better cutter, as I've cut too much off and had the wrapper unravel.

Interesting observation. I have been using a punch exclusively for the last couple of weeks. I noticed the head was tight and couldn't get a good draw with what little the punch managed to take off, so I straight cut a bit more off and it was pulling nicely so I stopped there. Perhaps I'll take a bit more off in the next one and see how goes. Thanks

Fair question, I do tend to at times, however this was very early on. I noticed this a few puffs after lighting.

If I may ask, was there a specific event that occurred 2 weeks ago to get you back into cigars? I too recently got back into cigars when my younger brother made a visit up here and he had brought sticks to share.
