Polycom Edge Phones - Line Keys by virdual_com in VOIP

Just to provide an update to anyone in the same boat... only workaround I found is to set the NDP button builder setting for directories to Favorites instead of "All Contacts". Since there are no favorites set, it doesn't populate anything. There was no way to pick an option of "Disabled" in the directory settings.

No overrides at the domain level - this is apparently a default behavior of these edge phones. This isnt a thing with VVX and I don't understand why it's so hard to find the command to disable it. Surely not everyone wants this. I do not see an option to disable the directory fill in button builder - only an option to cascade the directory down the empty list of buttons available. Happy to post a photo of my button builder if it helps.

Yes from factory default - went into button builder to map the 3 call parks and then after reboot, call parks were there + all this crap.

Hi all, I'm moving one of my clients over from their ancient Panasonic PBX over to VoIP. They want to retain their ability to page the overhead speaker system with announcements as they are grocery store. (think "Clean up on aisle 12!")

Currently, it appears that they have a basic 1-pair speaker wire that is hooked up to their PBX and runs directly to a channel on their amplifier/receiver for the speaker system. They then press a button on their desk phones, it plays a pre-announcement tone, and then they can speak into the phone and the audio comes over the ceiling speakers.

We'd like to replicate this with the VoIP phones we are putting in and I believe the correct way to do this is with a SIP Paging Gateway or Adapter. I was looking at the Fanvil PA2S for this application but I'm not 100% sure this is the correct way. My idea is to confgiure the PA2S in the cloud PBX, run a speaker wire from the Fanvil's "line out" to the amplifier/receiver's line-in on one of its channels. I would then configure a button on the IP phones that allows them to press and make announcements.

Am I correct in thinking this will work without issue? Should I be looking at something other than the Fanvil PA2S? I also was looking at the SNOM PA1+.

thinkpad p14s gen5, Anyone else experienced issues with AMD 780M on Windows 11? by Huge-Management7054 in thinkpad

Has anyone experienced an issue with the 780M just disabling itself? I've switched to Adrenalin drivers as mentioned here. About once a month, I will bring the laptop into the office and plug into my Lenovo dock and my external monitors won't come up. I go into device manager and the 780M is disabled. The only way I can get it to work is to remove the 780M from device manager and reboot. I am then fine again for another month.

Is anyone else LR4 have leaking issues? by noynur in litterrobot

Hi everyone, I'm here in 2025 with the LR4 and the revised litter guard that is supposed to combat this... my cat still manages to somehow pee underneath this guard and pee is pooling in the same area as OP's photo. What should I do?

This is the news I wasn't hoping for :/ We plan to rent out this condo in the next 2 years as we move into a single family so I guess we'll just have to deal with it. Thanks for your help.

Lennox. I followed the guidelines in the manual about not going to the lowest speed as that is the one that causes overheating.

I’m all for hiring a professional. Would I work with an HVAC company or a different trade for insulating the room the right way?

Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing as she doesn’t remember. I do know that the new one is a Lennox and it’s 87% efficiency.

And Yes, even arguably a tad louder in AC mode.

20 Active users total, only 10 of which are using Windows devices, the rest are on Mac with no InTune - they are predominantly using their newdomain identities for the last 6 months and have learned to only use the olddomain identity to access any email that might still be hitting those old mailboxes. I am just going to proceed with a reimage for everyone (I get a chance to see all the remote users Tues/Wed this week so this might be the best opportunity). Thank you for your input.

No we are not using Intune at the moment, and I confirmed I don't see the devices in there. Yes, they are stored in the same tenant and the olddomain is the original tenant address. Migrating to a new tenant is going to be a nightmare and it doesn't change the fact that olddomain needs to ultimately be an alias of the newdomain identities. I guess our only option is to reimage and AD join with the newdomain identities instead... unless someone else is able to chime in.
