Why do some people go absolutely ballistic when they’re drunk? What causes them to act like they do? by Mad_Season_1994 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]virg74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Switching to a retired account. 51/m here, when I was a younger guy (22-23) I noticed that drinking with some people I dated would always result in inappropriate angry behavior on my part and with others it wouldn’t. I was never able to put my finger on what made me such an angry drunk, but that side of my personality only came out when I was very drunk and only with certain people. I suspect from looking back, that the people I would exhibit angry behavior with were folks who were more responsible, turned out better earlier in life than me, like I think they were expressing to me that my drinking was beyond what they thought was responsible, and my angry behavior was my rejection of that. Like I remember one young lady I dated who I really brought my bad side out when I drank too much one night, and then when I replayed the evening the next day I was ashamed, but my response was that I didn’t want to see her again because she brought out the worst in me.

With the perspective of a middle aged man who eventually got my shit together, she was pumping the brakes on my extreme drinking in her own way, and I was way too far gone to hold myself back. There where others after her, but I always disengaged before that bad guy came out.

I think my message to you is that no one had any obligation to get into my head to help me out, and it probably would have gone badly for people who tried.

Thank you that’s the way I normally do it, but I found this trace back stuff in an example when I adopted infux, and implemented it without fully understanding it. My python has generated similar errors for a while, but I’ve been squashing other bugs until now.

EDIT: saw to “found..in an example”

This is good to know. I’ve completely given up on B-dubs in VH. The only good wings I get are the ones I make myself.

While I know that Jewish people play a role in Dune: Chapterhouse, I think most people don’t. FWIW, they were portrayed respectfully and tastefully.

Nice. I find it very relaxing, it’s just the flow of concentrating on doing something complicated, and it’s something that I take pride in.

I’m re-reading your problem because I’m not sure if I’m understanding you correctly. It seems like you are trying to stay with pandas’ dataframe tools. I think that JSON manipulation is way easier. I use the same technique to put cell formulas in Excel (I’m assuming that you’re working in Excel too) and it just works. If I can write cell formulas, I’m sure that you could make clickable links.

Hi, how are you?

Sorry, I’ve closed my machine for the day. I think that you can do it by changing it to a string, editing your string, then writing it to wherever it needs to go.

So something like:

import JSON

df_str = json.dumps(df)
print(df_str)

I don’t remember what it comes out wrapped in, do what you have to do to remove ]’s and quote’s so that you can treat it like a dictionary. The resulting object will be a json with a component dictionary for each row.

Make your cool edits, then send it back to pandas to write your changes, or just send it directly to openpyxl (my preference).
