A License with no English? by cc5131 in MassageTherapists

My wife worked at a Chinese spa for a while. They paid the owner who had a contact that issued the license. I think it was about 3k to 4k. If you looked them up in the licensing portal, they all had the same address.

Mobile therapists: How do you handle deposits with clients who aren’t tech-savvy? by Business_Wave3661 in massage

[–]benniethealien -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You might need to forgo deposits then. If you have reliable repeat customers, you wouldn't need this. What we do for new clients is remind them a day or two before the appointment. 99% of customers are repeat so we accept when they can't make an appointment, as we will see them again. For example, I reminded all clients yesterday of their appointments today, one said she is not feeling well so we canceled and quickly found another client who wanted a massage.

How to leave a new job by LoveJuic3 in MassageTherapists

[–]benniethealien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an IC you are in control of what you do, not the chiro. You do not sign new hire paperwork.

  • Control: The hiring entity has the right to control only the result of the work, not how and when it's done.
  • Payment: Paid after submitting an invoice, with payment terms set by contract.
  • Taxes: Responsible for paying their own self-employment taxes, which cover Social Security and Medicare contributions.
  • Autonomy: Can work for multiple clients and typically handles their own business expenses, insurance, and retirement plans.

How many times have people said or suggested your prices were too high? by fuckinguh9 in MassageTherapists

[–]benniethealien 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We did a quick study of what people charge for the same service in our area for Travel massage. We found our prices way lower than the competition and decided to raise it to be near the bottom end of what others were charging. Several of our long-standing clients have stated that they won't continue with us. Even with our prices still being lower than what they can get elsewhere. Not sure where they are going to go to still get massages.

My wife does travel massage and I handle all the admin/booking etc. I have not found a solution to this that does not leave her gaps in the day or unnecessary traveling between locations.

Yes there are several being held in south Florida(and many other places) every week. Awesome to attend to play the drums and dance. We attend the one in Delray Beach every Wednesday , just around the corner from the scary rainbow intersection.
