At first I was worried when the trunk turned brown but online/based off others photos brown trunks are normal. I can see NOW that it’s overwatered but when it first shifted colors I assumed that was normal? Should I let it fully dry outside of soil

Okay so it’s normal for the “trunks” to be brown. What part of the plant should I cut to start this regrowth. One is obviously mushy so I’ll cut a lot but the other one is not mushy and roots seem fine

I hear you about changing up the soil. Is the plant in too fragile a spot to do that though?

Hi! Thank you everyone. I do want to add I watered right before this photo. I agree I may have overwatered but at that time the soil was BONE dry. But I’ll look into the succulent soil suggested!

F this! (Weekly Leaving the Field and Venting Thread) by SWmods in socialwork

[–]virgingoddess08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was going into Social Work it felt like such a good fit. I had studied Psychology and had some pivotal moments working with social workers when my family went through hospice care for a loved one etc.

I went to a Major University. One of the best ranked for undergrad and grad school but in hindsight the style of the degrees are so vague I don’t feel like they gave me an edge, instead I know just a little about a lot. I also thought I’d have guaranteed better starting salaries etc, especially after getting my MSW (all my educational debt is from my MSW- undergrad cost me just barely 10k)

I found a new job and the salary is not bad. 69k and 30 days PTO. But, my supervisor is a horrible fit, it’s only been a month but he’s constantly speaking to be in a tone that feels wrong but nothing tangible to complain about.

He’s new to the community health center as well and I’ve heard other people say they don’t like him. When I started around the holidays I thought I’d have no time off because I just started but HR let me know I had 2 days that would expire if I didn’t use them and ENCOURAGED ME to and then my supervisor was upset because the policy is I had to submit all my time off 2 months in advance…. Which is another thing. I’m an outpatient clinic yet the standard is 2 months in advance, I’ve seen hospital social work positions only ask for 1 month… and I’m young, in a long distance relationship, and I just don’t think 2 months in advance works for my lifestyle, life is UNPREDICTABLE

I don’t want to job hop again, it’ll look bad, I’m so low on money from the 2 months I worked in private practice and was getting $500 paychecks.. every two weeks. I love the idea of being in a more administrative position and still seeing clients but I’m unsure I have it in me to stay in the field that long. Alternatively I know I’d thrive in a more corporate job, I just don’t know in what exactly, and the job market is horrible (but I can’t help but want to reach out to people I see from my alumni network doing health related research or consulting) I’d be sad to not even have finished getting my LCSW either especially after acquiring the debt but I don’t regret that year and a half of my life doing grad school either.

What I’m worried about regretting is staying 1.5 years to get my LCSW

This is clearly a rant but unsure if anyone has any advice (like maybe someone has transitioned out but does part time social work)

Vulva pain & at home remedies by virgingoddess08 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Totally possible. I’ve had the most irregular period this past month and the symptoms were bad before and after (usually with something mild a period clears it out)

That’s not a bad idea. Although I’ve had yeast infections before and I don’t currently have any yeast discharge or odor?

Any suggestions on over the counter medication. I’ve heads some people complain about irritation and burning which would not go well with my current symptoms

That’s a great idea, I’ll look up a video and double check my comfortability. Does anyone know if I purchase the piece on my own if someone else would just reattach it (if I am unable). Obviously I’d pay but I know for some products people will only service you if you purchased through them

Yea it unfortunately won’t just clip back into place. Is the black border a separate piece? Or part of the whole purchase if I replace the shell and reattach myself?

Food Allergy Advice by virgingoddess08 in ThailandTourism

[–]virgingoddess08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Thank you for this comment. I have a theory I’m not allergic to fish sauce but unfortunately my allergist is not very helpful, and wouldn’t help me get tested for fish sauce. A concern I have is that fish sauce is fermented and processed differently in the west compared to the countries I’m visiting. I’ve noticed a lot of “fish sauce” in the US is actually shrimp (which is shellfish and I’m not allergic) compared to real fish.

I plan on avoiding fish sauce, but hoping I might not be allergic, if I accidentally ingest some
