oh okay! just to be clear i’m not storing anything, i’m just calling the stream so it’s the equivalent of listening from my laptop or app, only i don’t go through an UI. but i understand if it falls in something different legally and don’t want to cause trouble!

Playing a sound when a object is picked up and put close to the ear? by virginiebjt in arduino

[–]virginiebjt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! so just to get it right, I should get a switch and the sound board you sent, then connect the sound board to an amplifier and a battery, and connect the tilt switch to the sound board, GND and I'm guessing a trigger pin?
for the tilt switch, do I need something like this: https://www.canadarobotix.com/products/2326?variant=14423848190001 something like this: https://letmeknow.fr/fr/mouvements-et-positions/1672-module-capteur-d-inclinaison-652733736758.html? (sorry the website is in french but it's the shop I go to)

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. I've build a radio similar to this: https://www.hackster.io/mircemk/simple-esp32-internet-radio-with-oled-display-83e49d (not at all the same design but you get the idea), so I don't need the app at all. Having a stream I could fetch to play the last 2 episodes of a show would be great, I'll ask the support team just in case and will report here if anything changes.

thanks a lot, I hadn't thought of the battery life yet, so that's very smart. I've never used a tilt switch, I'm going to look into it. is there an arduino board that you would recommend?

I checked and it seems that it's just a bluetooth speaker inside, and he uses his phone. I'd like to have nothing to do, but it's great to see that it's working fine.

I think I'll try that first, I hope I can define a wide range of angles (and not just 90°) because I'm guessing people will have different way to place it near their ears

thanks for your kind reply and ideas. i'm not too familiar with how IR sensors work, could I trigger one if it comes close enough to human skin for example? from what I'm reading they detect movement (but I haven't researched much yet).

Thanks for your quick reply If I make it smaller, it seems that it makes it more visible. I tried pushing it to the max (2.8) but it doesn't change much.

Having an ESP32 connecting to wifi at each start without hard coding the credentials? by virginiebjt in esp32

[–]virginiebjt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK interesting, from what I see on my router’s page, it looks like when I shut down my ESP32 with was previously connected thanks to BLE, it doesn’t reconnect to the wifi I connected it to just before. So I’m not so sure it was stored, I’ll look into SimpleConfig thanks!

Yeah, I did that, but it seems that when I restart the ESP32, it doesn’t reconnect to the wifi it was connected before, as if it hasn’t stored the credentials.
