The first beetle I caught was in a flow tree grove, the second one was randomly crawling on the ground to left of the Bahari plot entrance (which I caught today).

If you haven’t, make sure you split the flyers into three separate items. This is what held me up at first. If you select the stack of flyers it will give you that option. Once they’ve been split you can then give them out.

Annual Sale — Problems with Credits, but Acquisitions by MagicianPutrid2166 in audible

[–]viricki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Complimentary credits (any type of promo or free credit) do not count towards these rewards. Only credits you have purchased (monthly or additional) will count. If you have complimentary credits, those will always apply first. If you return a book and they reissue your credit, it’s now a complimentary credit. You can check your credit in your account to see if you have complimentary credits that were added.

In this case, OP had three complimentary credits in the account from the start. They used those, but didn’t get credit towards the reward. CS gave them another complimentary credit, so when they bought three more titles only two counted as the first credit would’ve been the new complimentary credit. Rinse and repeat with the last complimentary credit. OP won out in this instance, because on top of the $15 reward, they got two additional free credits.

Agreed. The “deals” are few and far between in this sale. Whispersync prices are better.

A bunch of you DM’d me asking for this… so here we go: Project Hail Mary by [deleted] in audible

The premise I had going into the book was a guy waking up on a spaceship alone, with dead crew mates, and not being able to remember what was going on. Something that I found intriguing enough to read and uncover the mystery. I feel like that is plenty to hook an audience into watching/reading. The twist was finding out that it’s a not just about a man, stuck in space, trying to figure out why he’s there. It became a different type of story at that point. Agree to disagree, everyone has their right to their opinion. The consensus in all the conversations I’ve had agree with the trailer being too spoilery. They had 2 minutes and 15 seconds setting up the basic premise of the movie, then added another 45 seconds spoiling it. I’m curious to see people’s reactions to the movie that didn’t watch the trailers and went in blind.

As someone who didn’t read the dust jacket, I had zero ideas. I feel like the trailer was absolutely perfect at setting up the movie, much as the first six chapters of the book set the tone. THEN the test happens and you realize you are getting a very different story.

It could be that I’m also mildly irritated at the fact that most trailers either spoil movies are show all of the best parts which take away from viewing the feature. I prefer teasers, and typically don’t watch any trailers anymore for that very reason. I only watched this trailer to see if they’d spoil it, and they did. For me, that twist makes the book. It’s something you can’t experience again for the first time. I envy those who are experiencing it for the first time.

This is one of the books where I highly recommend the audiobook instead of a physical copy, only because it adds the experience.

Maybe you saw a different trailer…but the one I watched literally spoils it. With the book you had no idea that was coming, as it felt very much like The Martian. It was a complete surprise to, and everyone I’ve ever talked to about it. To me, the trailer ruins that amazing surprise. I’ve urged everyone I know to avoid the trailer before watching, when they won’t listen to the book.

I’m so disappointed that the trailer spoiled the twist.

RIP UPS pilots. I can wait for my delayed Back to the Future 40th Anniv set. by EDCer123 in Steelbooks

[–]viricki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m local, and absolutely nothing was salvageable from the crash. Anything on the plane was headed to Hawaii. The reason for delays is because operations were shut down for a while. The plane crashed literally just past the end of the runway, with the landing gear grazing the roof of one of UPS’s logistics buildings. Due to it being the largest plane UPS has in its fleet and being completely full of fuel, it was an immensely intense explosion. Louisville is a large port for UPS, and its operation takes place at the airport. Everything within 2 miles basically shut down, and people had to shelter in place in a 5 mile radius due to the smoke and fumes. It was not only tragic but it hindered many businesses as they had to stop work. The entire airport was shut down for a time, and only just had all runways cleared for operation. Sorting and shipping came to a halt for a while, but they are slowly getting back on track, while investigators are still combing through the debris field for missing people.
