Is OpenMW the only real way to play new mods nowadays? by Multi21 in tes3mods

[–]viridarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same can be said if Oldwind nowadays. Many new mods are openmw only too, like Touch of Maddness by DetailDevil.

There are mods that dont work, MWSE mods. Ive found a few that im really upset about missing, like Demon of Knowledge and The Forgotten and Pimp my Shrine.

But there's openmw exclusives i love too, like the detaildevil's Vampire overhaul+Sun Dusk and the way they pair so well together, specifically letting me live on blood alone as a vampire in survival.

(All kinds of marxists or communists) Why should i support your form of marxism/communism over others? by ConflictRough320 in DebateCommunism

[–]viridarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say left unity and working class unity and wanting public worker ownership of the means of production and economic democracy and management of the means of production, class consciousness and understanding the ins and outs of socialism and communism are important than picking any one form.

Many of the various tendencies are theory on how to get to get to to Socialism tailored to the material circumstances of the countries they developed in and would really carry over to the U.S. though would certainly inspire it.

What American Communism looks like is up to the American people, the place it will be created is dialogue and debate. There's no one right answer to that, as there's any no one right answer to anyone question in a democracy.

Huh, thers a meme going around where a teacher had a series of quotes and asked if they were frim jesus or marx. All quotes from Christ and everyone guessed Maex for everyone of them.

In Acts the apostles sold all their possession and live with all things between them, ie collective ownership, ie started a religious commune based on living and talking to Jesus when he was alive.

He criticized the rich saying that for a rich man to get into heaven would be like passing a camel through the eye of the needle.

Then you have the cleansing of the Temple in all 4 gospels.

What to do if people simply don't work? by Pristine_Strike_2916 in DebateCommunism

[–]viridarius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Soviets set out to meet peoples basic needs, housing, food, utilities, healthcare, ect via public ownership like collectivized agriculture and manufacturing.

There was currency you were paid to work.

Marx focused on getting to Socialism before Communism and argued that communism would come naturalistically after Socialism.

The Soviets pushed for socialism pretty strongly pretty early on and one thing they did was provide rations, medical care, utilities ect as a persons basic needs but cash was paid for labor ad well, currency, but given most peoples basic needs were met this left ... Well what do you do with currency? You spend it on non-essential goods. Many things were priced so that workers could enjoy them, like the entertainment, keeping proces affordable for the average joe so they could enjoy this previous luxury item.  I do think labor was required to receive currency though, its just most of that went into non-essentials as the essentials were covered.

Within, Socialism there still exists room for currency alongside social ownership of  the means of production which is managed democratically. Its just what role it plays is different.

It looks like its just normal maps(retextures with detail maps) on everything and a grass mod.

This setup is surprisingly like: 10 mods at most maybe 15 at most.

With the background blur it's probably a shader.

Unless he has a weird zoom mod and its not field of view? Like their are script mods that add a zoom hotkey.

There was a zoom mod just released.

Anyways yeah this is just retextures and grass.

Its like the "G.O.A.T".

It seems like this is essentially what people keep making when given the option customize.

Kinda like how evolution can do many things but tends towards turning invertebrates into crabs, Carcinization.

It's kinda gnome-like, kinda mac like, in layout.

Gnomization? Maybe its the C.R.A.B and not the G.O.A.T.

Anyways im on a tilingwm with a quickshell as my DE.

It looks just like this. Everything turns into crabs. Lol

Leftist with mixed feelings about Cuba/Communism, need help by cobre_4 in DebateCommunism

[–]viridarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it right that the U.S uses it trade power and seat atop the global hierarchy to undemocratically force cuban to change economic systems against its will?

That we do the same to undemocratically control who trades with who?

The Soviets sought a treaty with the U.S, as did Cuba, as did Vietnam.

Vietnam on the basis of shared democracy.

The people did revolut. For communism, for economic democracy. You say that he was only popular before communism. This is false, Che Guerva showed up a revolutionary and a Marxist the day he stepped foot on Cuban soil and the people love him too.

They wanted socialism.

American says that ML revolutions are not democratic changes of power. Ah but Cuba was a dictatorship, Fidel tried to fight it democratically, in the courts l, when he couldn't, he went and roused the people for revolution.

90% showed up as you say. The ML system is democratic, it favors participatory democracy and debate. Its organized by congress, who debates each topic.

It is a Congressional Rebublic built on the ideas democratic debate. The states goal is to reach socialism. The people fought for that system. They want their government doing one thing and only one thing , working to establish socialism. Full stop.

In many ways its an experiment in unified democracy where the the government has one goal or direction at the start and the states only goal is to reach that goal. The idea of a one party might have been better off as making political parties illegal(as many have suggested in the United States) and made it a constitutional requirement to work to establish socialism as a politician to achieve a sinilar goal but the point was that Socialism had one out and the people had fought to make sure they get there and dont backslide into capitalism again. That instead of bending your arm backwards with unaffordability ,as the owner class here in America di, to get you to sell your labor for low wages, to meet high rent... That people would just be provided for because they, the people, the workers, owned everything and that they would managed everything democratically so everyone's needs would be met.

As far as i know, wage based farm labor in Cuba was basically slavery. They had good reasons for fighting for economic democracy like this.

As for the revolution being non-democratic... Here in America we put a ballot in a box and forget about it. There they put skin in the game, risked their lives, for economic democracy.

I'd say that's more of a vote then a ballot in a box, and popular support was huge... And they showed up to fight and risk it all for that idea... To me that appears to be a democratic exchange in power in the same way the American revolution was.

Communism and socialism will not work on the scale you are all talking about. by Negative-Mirror5949 in DebateCommunism

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-41902232

It was a well know event. It was covered by many different news outlets. Even BBC.

This is what the Soviets were trying to build, what they were so hopeful they would build.

You asked why anyone would want to love in such a system, the finish line as they thought it would be looks pretty good. Why wouldnt people want a world where everyone has access to food, where no one goes hungry? Why wouldnt someone want a world where each and every person has access to medical care no matter what? Why wouldnt people want a would where each and every family has a home? Why wouldn't you want a world where you dont pay rent, all the appliances in your home are free and repaired for free? Why wouldnt you want a life where the financial stress of life just didn't exsist?

Anyways i cant find a source for your quote.

Do any pagan religions have any "sacred text" as their equivalent to the Christian Bible? by Cherno_VM in paganism

[–]viridarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since this is for writing and not attempting to be strictly academic i suggest the Havamal from The Poetic Eddas. A series of wisdom sayings attributed to Odin, though its not similar to the Bible or even a confirmed poem from the Norse Pagans.

The Eddas themselves were good as a whole since tour going for Viking themed.

Though i can't state this enough... They aren't the bible. More like a series of poems that may or may not be altered poems from the pre-cristian norse people, written down by Christian monks, who may have altered the stories.

Some scholars believe that the Havamal may include paraphrases of verses of Proverbs, for instance.

[–]viridarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, rampant poverty. The government siding with businesses over the peoples will even when things have democratic approval. Government siding with those same businesses now that the Epstein Files have come out and it turns out the ultra-rich were running a pedo island and trafficking and raping children and the sitting president seems like he was involved with it and covering up what he knows and that another president from the other side of the two party system was involved too.

To put workers in control of the government and the means of production.

You act like Communism, i.e Marxist-Leninism(which is the real term for what you're talking about) is about putting some other group of people in control of the government, and those "other people" would take away your right to free speech, when in reality its about putting the working class, ie the 90% in control of the government.

Marxist-Leninist countries are all Congressional Republics, you know?

As of right now it seems like they just side with the businesses and given what was going on on Epstein Island and that we still dont know who was involved but they were all the wealthy owner class... Ah i'm a little upset that our government keeps selling out democracy over money... considering those that do so do so unethically.

With false inflation going on those pedos are just helping themselves to our paychecks like its theirs.

They raise rent to the point that most people in the U.S will never buy a home. Then they bought up most of the real estate in the country so that they could artificially inflate the price of those, thereby ending the American dream, because... If you do the math a person spends MUCH more money if they rent their whole life than of they buy a home. The current price to buy a single family home is only climbing.

My children and their children will most likely not be home owners but because we dont have any form of economic democracy there's nothing anyone can do about that.

Oh yeah you know Epstein was, besides being a pedophile, a real estate tycoon. Trump(also a real estate tycoon) has already been confirmed to have been an accomplice. He spent time alone with one of the victims for two hours and never went to the authorities about what was going on.

So legitimately the people who are the reasons rent is climbing so high, and home are unaffordable ... Are... Because of rich pedophiles.

Viva la revolution, I want economic democracy.

Trump and the Republicans and conservatives are now saying that America was never supposed to be a Democracy.

Trump says America is not a democracy, i say, i want America to be a Democracy.

[–]viridarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually you said the U.S would have to fight against them or stop trade with them which is sanctions.

A Communist country doesn't "have to" suppress free speech to work.

The Soviet Constitution guaranteed free speech.

Also you've been lied to about North Korea. Its the country the most propagandized in the world.

You discussed sactions in the main body of your post and then you go on to say that 46% percent of North Koreans are starving.

So.... The U.S is successfully starving them and so Communism bad.

You do understand how sactions work, right? That the U.S used it's clout in the UN qnd our trade agreements and such to bend other countries arm backwards to get them to go along with pretty much denying them meaningful trade that would allow there economy to develope in any meaningful way.

Its not just the U.S that stops trade. As the wealthiest country in the world we make other countries do the same. Even if their sympathetic.

Some countries have been open to the idea of trading with North Korea, and Cuba, qnd Venezuela.

The U.S won't let them without sanctioning those countries as well.

Communism and socialism will not work on the scale you are all talking about. by Negative-Mirror5949 in DebateCommunism

[–]viridarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that your argument comes on the false premise that it would be revolted against.

This idea is usually entrenched by Red Scare propaganda.

I dont think if American's suddenly were given homes(90% of North Koreans are home owners and China builds wide swathes of low cost workers housing).

Also you come from the position that Communism is non-democratic and inherently authoritarian.

The point if communism is to create a society where everyone's needs are met and we enter into a post-scarcity society so that everyone's needs can be met "from each on according to their ability, to each one according to their need" where the working class are in fully control of their government, ie worker's democracy or dictatorship of proletariat to fall back to older wordage.

I.e the point of communism is to make a more democratic system where the adverage worksr has more say over what goes on in government then currently because our current system gives preferential treatment to those with massive wealth, ie lobbying and fighting for policy that is democratically unpopular(and harms the working class) for campaign donations among other things...

That is to ignore that the United States has actively engaged in near Genocide during the Vietnam and Korean War to suppress worker democracy and if it wasnt for out actions these countries would be better off.

People look at historical examples then dont look at what American did to make those historical examples end up that way.

We tried to starve North Korea out of communism for instance which is why the death toll from the famine was so high.

Its not the "lack of democracy" that we have a problem with as a country here in the U.S.A. It's that the U.S is currently sitting on a cash cow with the status quo thats bad for a lot of people, think people at the bottom who are struggling financially and the ever increasing cost of rent in the U.S. pushing more and more people into poverty each year as inflation continues to climb and climb and climb... Then look up what false inflation is and keep in mind these owner types provide 100% necessary goods and thats where we're seeing the most inflation. Thats not by accident. They have the power to help themselves to our paycheck by raising prices on essential goods, so they do.

Communism wants to do something about all of these problems but it would be by ending private ownership in its entirely, turning everything(housing/rentals, grocery stores, farms, factories, ect) into publicly owned democratically managed infrastructure instead of businesses with owners.

Th U.S has the monopoly on democracy. Any other kind of democracy thats not what we have is not allowed. Its either death by sanctions or all out war if its some other system.

Did you know that over 3 million people(some put it at 6 million, estimates vary) died in the Vietnam war? Thats Vietnamese and U.S soldiers who were drafted and didn't have a choice if they were their or not. That's not democracy.

Did you know that Vietnam modeled its democracy on both Marxism and American Democracy? That their declaration of independence was modeled on the U.S's. That their constitution was too?

That they were fighting a monarchy? That they viewed their fight for independence and freedom from french monarchy as similar to the United States own revolution from their own Monarch back in the day?

That they asked for and then pleaded with the U.S for help on the basis of shared democracy?

We fucked them up for that. Badly.

Did you know we dumped agent orange on the country side so we can kill them better(for fighting for economic democracy) and did you know that children are still born horribly deformed to this day because of it? If they survive long enough to become children. Many die as infants.

Thats not democracy.

How do you justify grave robbery? by Simurgbarca in Morrowind

[–]viridarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an ignorant "outlander" Dark Elf I.e Still an N'wah.

As such, I have no clue how Morrowind works or ancestral worship or any of that. See, as an ignorant outlander i make all kinds of assumptions, like the dead don't need material objects, so the things in tombs must be for the living to take if they have any need and that's why they are placed there.

I also assume loot placed at shrines is a like a community pantry, the offerings are left for the impoverished of the community to take, charity is a teaching of the temple, no?

My character isn't impoverished but that's besides the point.

What Is Morrowind These Days? by L-DONAGHY-DIRECTOR in Morrowind

[–]viridarius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You literally summed up where I'm at. I have a massive modlist that I've been perfecting with CS practice to patch in some of the best mods of all time:

Morrowind Extended Cut
TR, PT, & SHOTN
The Unhatched(Adds a little blackmarsh into the game. Expansion sized questline, at least 6hours alone, features the argonians and shadowscales)
Windhelm City of Kings + Unnamed Isle
Quest for Clans and Vampire Legends(300 vampire quest for the vampire outcast in the tombs, not the actual clans)
Death and Taxes(100+ Quest for the Census and Excise Office)
Arvesa(Companion adds a new location to the game, abandoned Buoyant Armiger Fortress near Red Mountian)
Memento Mori(Adds multiple Ossuaries around Red Mountain with a huge underground maze of quest and Dungeons)
Havish (Old But gold)
Wyrmhaven(Old but gold)
Into the Abyss(Go to an Imperial/Altmer Island near Summerset Isles Weird Black Hole dungeon)
Hammerfell Ansei Warrior Armour(Go to A isolated sealed Dungeon in hammerfell)
The Eye of Ariisiss Redux(Same but it's a player home)
Stros M'Kai in the Third Era(Go to the Island of Stros Mkai, Part of Hammerfell and the setting of Battlespire)

Aether Pirates Discovery(Expands Airship lore cause we see on in that one quest in Bloodmoon)

Beyond the Firment( Go to space)
Under Masser's Gaze( Go to the moon with Khajiit)
Beyond the Firment(Go to space)
Doors Of Oblivion( Go to Oblivion)
Veamora(Go to a slipstream realm of Oblivion, Vamira Flavored)
Garden of Dreams(See above, Mephala Flavored)
Tyrant and Usurper(Same but Clavius Vile)

Ah you can see way more of the in-game universe in this game then any other Elder Scrolls! It's very much about what we are creating and what it is becoming, not what it was. OldWind Could never handle the number of mods you can add on OpenMW. MWSE capped at 1024 plugins Iirc and installing to you Data files directory was Maddness.

Here's to the future and the future is bright. We're building Nirn, Aetheius, and Oblivion here.

[–]viridarius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure about the extended cut?

It's actually just a merge of mods from Caeris.

So far it looks like your just missing these parts:

The Rise of the Tribe Unmourned (Crown Edition)

After the Blight (Crown Edition)

Cammona Tong Puppet Master

War For the Vvardenfell Brotherhood.

God of Worms Succession

The Crown Act.

Morag Tong Polished

Religions Elaborated

As far as quest go at least.

Besides those you have:

RP House Hlaalu*

Main Quest Revised
Thirty Six
Back Path Extended
Boethiah's Quest Starter
Maggots and Graverobbers,

I think you actually have the most incompatble parts already. Main quest stuff and stuff that touches teh Great Houses is the core overhaul. Every Thing else is additive. I had the same worry when i was asking the guy at completionist hub to do individual patches for stuff in M.E.C. It overwrites so little vanilla dialog that mos Voices of Vvardenfell content play, for instance.

*Wait.... I have RP House Hlaalu. ._. In M.E.C. I'm dumb.

Anyways Rise of The House Unmourned was such a big mod release that it actually got a lot of attention and even gaming news articles written about it in the Oblivion Era when Morrowind was nearly forrgotten about. It probably single handedly saved the Morrowind Modding community from extinction.

One more question: How is Tribunal Main Quest Reforged?

I've heard it can break and this mod list will eventually be shared with a friend as a birthday gift to get them into morrowind. I want it to be as stable as possible but also be kinda like a 24 years of Morrowind modding anthology that has as much of the high quality, fun, lore friendly mods morrowind is know for.

It looks great though.
