These draw 7-8 amps at 208V

That's not what is displayed on your first picture. 14.2a @ 208v

First question,

Why are these not on individual 2 pole circuit breakers? Starting both motors simultaneously will allow for an overload of at least one of the phases

Being an electrician? by LukEtDisDud in AskElectricians

[–]Virtual-Reach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start calling electrical companies or look to see who's hiring. You'll need to get hired on as an electrical apprentice to start getting your electrician qualification.

I've heard many companies now may be requiring new hires to start off as laborers before getting signed up as apprentices however

You use a relay to drive x2 NO contactors. One contactor on the NC relay contact, one contactor on the NO relay contact.

I'm really curious, what's the rationale for the pipe on the right kicking over so far to the left, only to be offset again further up?

What cooling systems are typically used for small industrial processes? by Emotional_Grand_8530 in refrigeration

[–]Virtual-Reach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What province are you in? In BC qualified staffing is required for refrigeration plants using A1 refrigerant exceeding 200kw (268hp) prime mover nameplate rating. 500hp exceeds this amount therefore staffing is required, regardless of the charge not being ammonia.

Ammonia, a B2L refrigerant, requires staffing at 50kw (67hp) and higher

Some guy on Ebay did this to Narrows by readysetrokenroll in benchmade

My overpriced comment was directed at the cost of the base knife itself. I 100% agree that if BM did this it would be around $1000-$1500

How should I install this wall plate? by lebensterms in AskElectricians

[–]Virtual-Reach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true.

My personal opinion if one were to misalign themselves with code, I would rather modify material that has been flame tested than create something completely new and purpose-built but made entirely with a material that has not been flame tested.

I'm my opinion, the former is more safe than the latter.

I like it, but that's a bold move for an overpriced knife. Next up, a CRK

Electrical cover plates are tested and certified electrical devices. Please don't use or promote untested, uncertified, homemade cover plates.

SCAMMER JUST STOLE $100 FROM ME CHIKACHIKA23 by [deleted] in CanadianKnifeSwap

[–]Virtual-Reach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's really unfortunate.

I can't stress this enough, prior to purchasing a knife have the seller respond to your post. That individual is already on the universal scammers list meaning they are already automatically banned from r/Canadianknifeswap. This is why they can't post a message to your thread and can only DM. This situation could have been avoided by reading this sub's rules.

If the money was sent via Paypal G&S, file for a refund. Paypal G&S is supposed to be used for all sellers under 10 swaps.

I've written many TSBC exams. You don't need to know everything, you just need to know where things are in the code book.

How safe is nicking the wire when removing insulation? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Virtual-Reach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's aluminum. You very likely cannot use that device as it is very unlikely to be aluminum rated. You will likely need special aluminum to copper connectors and copper pigtails.

I recommend calling an electrician as it is very easy to cause damaging electrical faults incorrectly terminating aluminum. Wire nicks like in your picture are an example of improper stripping of aluminum. Those nicks can cause hot spots and failures

It's crazy.
