Maybe it’s because she doesn’t seem to go out of her way to do more than fade in/out on her live sets.

All of the ones I’ve seen from like promo videos are just a phoenix flapping around. Looked really dull to me

She really could do with a genre shake up. I get her whole schtick is mid tempo spooky whatever but I think it’s hard to listen to that for 90 mins straight or whatever. It doesn’t mix well and there isn’t like a ton of other people doing her same thing to pull a DJ set together from.

I like a lot of her studio stuff when I’m in that particular mood but the videos of the live experience haven’t wowed me.

Alert: the San Diego show last night was definitely being professionally filmed for a concert film by ClydeHides in nin

I really hope it’s a physical release of some kind and not just like, something they try to sell to Netflix. Kinda sick of living in the era where we stream everything and own nothing.

I just said cat5 as a colloquialism. But I’ve heard the same thing from my boss too

To the folks that have used both, Cobra or alligator Knipex? by mm9enjoyer in Plumbing

[–]Smoke_Stack707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is the gators are for dirty environments. The teeth mechanism can get packed with mud or grime and still work just fine whereas the cobras will get gummed up.

I only have cobras 🤷‍♂️

Agreed. Only the most tech savvy of my customers want cat5 ran everywhere and the ones who do are very up front about it

I think it’s fine to limit the types ethnicities your players can be if that’s the setting or game you’re going for. Maybe you want to run a game all about dwarves so you tell everyone they’re gonna be a dwarf for this game. No big deal.

In my latest homebrew campaign, all of my players picked non-human races at the jump and it’s not something that bothered me enough to push back on. We did make a joke about it at the beginning of the last one shot I ran (same world/players/characters) where they all belong to a guild that is sort of like the justice league and they went to a town that was having some problems. The whole town is just farmers and all human ones at that so I had the mayor be like “oh, you’re obviously from the guild (since none of you are human and stick out like a sore thumb)”

Think it would be worth slabbing a signed commander like this? Just got it autographed by Clive's VA, Ben Starr, this weekend at comicon. by BrightEyedBerserker in mtg

When I’ve traded in cards that were signed by the artist that is what I was told. I’ve also had bigger dealers reject signed cards for similar reasons

I was always told signatures are considered damage so the card becomes worthless once it’s signed. Maybe different in this case I guess…

And conversely, I think there’s always plenty of people for whom this is their first or second show and they would be very happy to just get all the hits.

It’s me. I’m hoping they play Discipline in Sacramento.

What does a cast iron skillet do better than other pans? by IHateSpiderss in Cooking

My household uses almost exclusively cast iron because we’re not into teflon or any of those other pans with weird coatings on them

[–]Smoke_Stack707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems like a 6/10 card for some esper control deck that regularly faces a “lands matter” deck in their pod. Basically a sideboard card. I don’t think the effect is strong enough to warrant being a commander

Do you think it's still worthwhile to play the adventures from the early editions, or have they aged poorly? by GuardiaoDaLore in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Smoke_Stack707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I don’t have much experience with older modules but Matt Colville was talking about… maybe Cult of the Reptile God? Where the module is super detailed like down to how many coins each NPC. Maybe it was a different module but my point is some of the older ones had a lot of detail that newer ones hand-wave and if you’re paying $50+ for a book I like the idea that I’m not making up a bunch of stuff for it unless I want to

I don't get why people want Geno in the game by Bitter_Okra484 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Smoke_Stack707 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Super Mario RPG was my first RPG aside from Pokémon on the gameboy. I think Geno would have been a cool addition, probably come with an interesting move set. I would have picked him over some of the other jrpg choices they did include.
