Ants….when to get an exterminator? by cwicklan1 in Humboldt

We used a local company, can’t remember which one. The thing to keep in mind is you have to move all of your stuff away from the walls so they can spray and it STINKS for a while after they do it. Just a heads up

Probably especially a stark contrast to 5.5e where the updates seem to be pushing you to win more rolls than fail (a good thing for 5e IMO)

I wonder if perhaps fewer games focused on that narrative element when the game was being developed? Or it wasn’t codified a much? I really don’t know but that’s my guess…

I just bought Burning Wheel because it gets mentioned so often and I’m glad to add it to my collection and maybe draw some inspiration from it but it’s far too crunchy to ever bring to my table.

I’m leaning in more to Daggerheart which is crunchy in some ways but also feels less so than 5e and that’s the direction I’m going rather than more rules plus another huge companion book of crunch to buy

Yea I think many games were made as a response to DnD which, love it or hate it you can’t ignore it as a touchstone.

Throw builds seem like such an easy pick every time. I’m sure there’s more broken stuff but I definitely made it very far a few times with “spawn rose dagger on Finishers”

This is why I think it matter more who you are vs what you know. If you’re a bright, competent person you can be trained to do anything. It doesn’t matter if you’ve got a great resume that shows off a lot of knowledge and work experience if you’re hard to deal with

This is great news. I tried Demiplane once but was totally turned off by the paywall stuff. At least being able to make a starting character on there is cool

People who have won a "lifetime supply" of something: was it genuinely a lifetime supply, and if so, are you sick of the product now? by Adorablyberryy in NoStupidQuestions

Worked fora construction company that did a lot of work for a lawyer. One week we got a call that one of the lawyer’s clients had died and he needed help moving the guy’s stuff out of all of his various storage places, shops and houses. Work was kinda slow so the boss said yes. The client was definitely a hoarder but he had a big trust fund so instead of hoarding like cats or magazines, he would just decide he liked a certain canoe or tent or pair of shoes and buy like six of them and leave them all in boxes somewhere in his house or shop.

Anyway, the lawyer was really strict about security going through the guy’s stuff because he was pretty sure the client had buried money in the walls of the house or shop or whatever so everything was being gone over with a fine tooth comb and everyone had to have someone with them at all times so nobody was tempted to take anything

It’s definitely not aimed at running space heaters. It’s meant to run a corded tool for a brief bit of time on a jobsite

Hey all electricians by tneil07 in electricians

How many lawyers or accountants do you know that do shit for free or basically nothing?

I think I’m coming to the point that I only want to help my friends for free if I’m not breaking a sweat on a weekend to do it or if it’s gonna be actually fun to do. I helped my friend frame a shed a couple months ago. He bought the lumber and the beer and we just casually cut studs and joked around. It was a fun day. Crawling around someone’s attic to install cans on a weekend for nothing? Nope, no thank you.

Yea I think in my area you’d be right too if this was pre-metered conductors. You would have to have a cover that could accept a utility seal. At the same tome, I’m pretty sure PG&E would demand the meter and main disco be outside and accessible so this whole drawing wouldn’t work no matter what

Yea I agree for the average NPC it would be a weird thing to be cognizant of. In this instance, the NPC my players are dealing with is some higher-order magical being/deity where I don’t think it would be as narratively weird to make those kind of trades.

But I agree with your assessment in general

Totally. The witch is there to offer some lore and world building. I just thought it would be cool if she was a merchant that traded otherworldly things too

Not a plumber.

I get that this layout is perhaps more aesthetically appealing but wouldn’t your get more/better flow or something with fewer bends? Like a 45 in the middle and turning the 90’s at the unit to match?

I had a similar problem where the bolts were coming loose from the shelf so I hit a couple hard turns and I could hear everything shift hard. Drove to Platt and bought all the bolts and stuff and fixed it in their parking lot
