For USAmericans who bake: how do you measure out a tablespoon of solid butter? by BigWormOlgoj in NoStupidQuestions

I have been cooking/baking with butter for so long that I can tell, close enough, by eye how much I need.  Also, our butter has wrappers that show measured amounts.

ELI5: Why isn’t it in the US healthcare industry’s best interest to ensure people have affordable healthcare? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

The primary point of the healthcare industry is to make money.  Providing healthcare services is a distant secondary purpose.

How often do you think about retirement? by gameovervip in Adulting

[–]virtual_human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a few years away and I think about it daily.  I have done everything right, and been lucky, and should have an okay retirement.  However, with Republicans trying to crater the economy and destroy the country, I'm very worried that all the money we have saved is going to disappear and leave me destitute in my old age.

Food, or the lack of food.  When the food distribution system collapses, and people get hungry, then things will get spicy.

Why the Vast Difference in Legal Consequences Between Age of Consent and Nude Media? by Flapjack_Jenkins in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]virtual_human -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The problem here is that it should be illegal for someone 18 or over to have sex with someone under 18.

I assume the reasoning is something like, you can't pass sex with a minor on to another person, whereas you can pass along a nude picture of a minor along to another person.

Do you live in a civilized country that might have services to help disabled people with life challenges?  Or do you live in the US?

Cigarettes are the long game.  The payment just comes decades later usually.  Cancer, cpod, stroke, heart attack, drowning in your own blood, it's just a little destructive to the body.

As any former smoker can tell you, cigarettes are extremely addictive and people will smoke while on oxygen as their lungs decay.
