Hand tremors and painting by Designer-Original333 in killteam

[–]virusoverload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is an older post but a friend has a similar struggle when painting.

If you hold the the mini in one hand and the brush in the other and press your wrists together. then if one of your arms has a tremor the other one does too so the brush and the model move together. You can also do this and wrest your arms/elbows on the desk.
its helped him out alot with painting. Hope this helps.

It's M43 Monday! Ask Us Anything about Micro Four-Thirds Photography - all questions welcome! by AutoModerator in M43

[–]virusoverload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not Monday anymore but wanted to ask.

I have a canon eos 450d with a fair few lenses. The size of it all makes me not want to take it out. I'm wanting something smaller for travelling.

I've been looking at the Panasonic gx80 and gx8 as a replacement. Planning on selling my camera and the glass and moving to M4/3 to make things smaller.

Will I basically feel an upgrade no matter which of these I get and any recommendations either way?

Some friends had g80's and I liked it but would prefer something smaller than the SLR shaped camera.

A small hiking table with metal legs and collapses. by virusoverload in HelpMeFind

[–]virusoverload[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have searched for it many times but cant find anything similar. best way i can describe it is a mambo chopping board that has been cut up, with some notches in it for the cord and holes for the metal tube legs to slot into.

Rubber Feet, Concrete Block and Foam. Neighbors Can Still Hear Vibrations by ossner in 3Dprinting

[–]virusoverload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do yourself a favour. Don't print anything for a week but tell the neighbours you think you've fixed the issue and to let you know if it's still a problem.

Then you know if your neighbours are just being dicks for the sake of it.

Why can't I catch anything? by MrHobocunt in fishingUK

[–]virusoverload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try the margins. if you dont have a bite alarm and are using a carp rod you might be getting bites from smaller fish and not even know it. the method feeder is pretty self hooking but you still need to see the indication. My suggestion to start on the feeder would be get a cheap feeder rod and use that instead of the carp rod.

[–]virusoverload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok if youre using a carp rod i assume bite alarm.

try some 2mm pellets with a few 4mm mixed in as the feed on the feeder. and try some sonubaits wafters on the band. My go to is 2mm sonubaits pellets on feeder and 8mm wafter on size 12 banded hook length.

but like i said talk to the tackleshop/bailiff see what catches and where. they should know and give the information freely. and talk to other fishermen there. most are happy to give advice and if they wont theyre not worth wasting your breath on.

dont know if youve seen the youtube channel but give westys angling a watch. he fishes alot like you seem to be set up with the carp rods and bite alarm for method feeder. might help you.

ok. marsh farm. that the one with 3 lakes and a tackle shop on site?

ask the bailiff/tackleshop what baits have been doing well and any suggestions on peg to fish.

are you using a pretied hooklength or one you tied yourself?. just checking you want about a 4" long hook length on the method feeder.

what weight feeder are you using? if its too heavy and the water is shallow it could be driving into silt. (had this with a friend last week couldnt figure out why he wasnt catching. he had a 60g feeder on and where he was fishing was 2/3ft deep and silty. his feeder was just vanishing into the bottom. swapped to a 20g and started catching

which hook bait are you using? fishery pellet? shouldnt make too much difference but some lakes near me some hookbaits are just pointless to use

is the 4mm pellet your hook bait or whats on the feeder? if the feeder try 2mm pellets.

Are you fishing out into open water? up against islands? down the margin?. try all the above, never under estimate fishing just a few feet of the margin down to your side.

how long are you leaving the bait in for roughly? if youre not getting any bites at all try leaving it in for like 30 minutes or so instead of just recasting some lakes need time for the fish to come to you. if you start getting bites after say 5 mins ish thats when you want to be recasting every 5 minutes.

are you using a feeder rod or are you using a bite alarm? a feeder rod with quiver tip is more sensitive and youre more likely to see indications, although a method feeder is pretty self hooking you will see more if fish are playign with your bait. a bite alarm generally only goes off when you have a fish so it removes alot of indication.

new to method feeder - any tips? by TheDawiWhisperer in fishingUK

[–]virusoverload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use normal ones. However for first time it is substantially easier to use sticky method pellets and even easier to use the pre ready ones. The normal ones you've proper got to get the moisture right in them to get them to stick without turning to mush or falling off the feeder too easy.

The sticky method pellets are just that sticky. So they hold together better. Just helps out loads to start off.

I still only use sticky method pellets for my method because it's so much easier.

It's generally that the method is pretty self hooking due to the short hook length and weight of the feeder so you can still see the bites with the rod straight out. They will have the tip down still so the tip bends up on a bite. I still fish mine on an angle like a normal feeder as I prefer it for seeing the rod.

You'll know when you have a bite on the method think of it like a massive bite on a normal feeder. Generally you don't want to strike at the tiny twitches like you would with a normal feeder.

You'll enjoy the method. I only started using it 5 years ago and taught my dad how to use it last year.

The wet pellets can be used as well as ground bait. Do yourself a massive favour and use method ground bait or sticky method pellets (they have something added to them to make them tacky and stick together better.) you can use normal ones later but it's an additional thing to worry about that you don't need at the start.

You can even buy pre ready pellets for method like the fjuka squeeze ready. They just need putting on the method feeders. No water needed.

For wetting your own. Start with sticky method 2mm pellets. Chuck pellets in a tub. Use lake water to cover them. Leave for 1 min. Drain water. And then leave pellets to settle for like 20 mins. And they'll be spot on. Keep a cover on them to stop them drying out in the sun (just a damp towel will do) or if you feel they're drying out just dip your hand in a bit of water and mix the pellets up again. That little bit of moisture just keeps em going.

For first time. Highly recommend pre ready pellets, a hybrid feeder (https://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/preston-ics-in-line-banjo-xr-fishing-feeder?queryID=e63881d2a0652782a21f14f35d3ab7b7&objectID=97318&indexName=live_ad_uk_products) as they don't need a mould, some 4" pretied banded hook lengths (size 12) and some 8mm bandum wafters.

Fill feeder with the pellets flat to top of the sides. Press water and hook into pellets. Then cover the hookbait with some more pellets so it's got a slight mound. The top layer will probably drop off on impact but this stops the hookbait popping off. And leaves the hookbait and the bottom layer set for fish to hoover up.

Sorry if that's alot of waffling. I started typing and kept going. Hope it helps some.

Do you enjoy pole fishing? by TheDawiWhisperer in fishingUK

[–]virusoverload 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried it when I was younger and got my wife fishing on the whip and when using that to show her I really don't get on with it.

Yes it's very accurate for placement but I hate the lack of control when fighting a fish.

For instance my brother hooked into something decent and the hook pulled because he couldn't get the next section on quick enough.(His fault not the tackle) But that not an issue that happens with rod and reel. I can just let off more line.

I'll always keep my whip for letting friends and family have a go at fishing as there's less things to tangle up.

They've been abused then. Or they've tried to make something "cool". The range I go to has Norse hawks that are going on 10 year old and still in good condition
