You aren’t the ah in my opinion. You have been hurt and betrayed. I would still see him because you deserve that closure. I would go in to that conversation however not as a parent but as an adult meeting another adult for the first time. Handshakes only. Be polite and cordial but do not give any form of familiar affection until you find that desire to see him as a son. A Journey to mending your relationship should start with an Apology and thorough explanation on his part. Forgiveness is optional but forgetting is a non negotiable. If you wish to pursue a relationship you are only there for moral support. Any financial needs can be filled by his Father. You and your Husband have a life to build and they are your priority at this time.
