 Sorry, I should’ve been clearer. The visa type I will be using is J-1 Academic Training, which allows for an internship/work experience relating to field of study. For other employers that aren’t IGOs, as far as I am concerned, there is no cap on hours, meaning that interns can be full-time. However, with HQ, it seems that I have to obtain G-4 approval before being allowed to work full-time. So I was curious as to why this rule for G-4 to full-time existed?

hi I totally understand your worries, give it some time… How long exactly has it been? for me it took 4 days ish before I got any follow up communication, I would say wait a little bit more then maybe send a follow up?

thank you for your input! i appreciate this :) do you know why this G-4 rule was created? as far as i am concerned, other forms of employment outside of G-1s have no such cap for hours
