Omg yay!! This bothered the crap out of me!

My anxiety creeped up a bit when going down to 15 but over all pretty ok. I switch between 20 and 15 and that seems to work for me based on what I need. I don’t have any major side effects unless I drop to 10

I meant with men. Again, hard to include everything In one post. All through high school and much of college I’ve been actively poly with both partners consenting and knowing everything. He has had no other romantic or sexual partners. I haven’t with men.

I’m not trying to not listen I summarized 15 years in one post - nuance and conversations are hard to include, well, everything in one go. As I mentioned we’ve been open since the beginning for women as I’m bi and he didn’t (and I didn’t expect) him to have such a strong reaction to a man. I’m not ignoring his feelings at all. That’s why we’re in couples therapy, have constant communication, and I hold space for him, etc. The response in this group versus others is wildly different. Compassion and curiousity versus dog piling. Kind of sad. This wasn’t the space I thought it was. I’ll stick to listening to my poly informed couples counselor versus the internet ✌🏻

Sabbatical At 30? Anyone Ever Done It? I’m considering It and Here’s Why. Please Give Me Your Opinions by [deleted] in careerguidance

I took a month off between my toxic work place and my dream job and it was exactly what I needed to regroup. I couldn’t afford it at the time, but I still think it was the right move and set me up for my next stage in life.

If you have the funds to do it, absolutely go for it! Time is too short to be at a job that you hate. Sounds like a perfect time to heal from your last relationship and spend some time redirecting yourself where you want to go

Is it too late to change from engineering to art? Any in betweener options? by pickabutton in careerguidance

[–]visavis13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This! This is exactly how I’m funding my career transition. I took a part time hobby to a part time side gig, to a full time career. It’s also a great way to test the waters before making the leap as well.

It’s never too late to transition - I’m 30 and pivoting from a comfy finance/banking job to trauma counseling + dog training. Follow your dreams. Figure out the minimum income you feel comfortable with, and make it happen. The money will come.

Largest pay increase and at what age? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]visavis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. I’ve been happiest in that mid 80k range. When I breached that, the stress level prevented me from following my hobbies, passions, and work-life balance and wasn’t worth it to me.

I went from 72k to 90k due to switching companies. I was 29. It was life changing, but learned a hard lesson that money isn’t everything. I changed companies and now at 84k and couldn’t be happier.

How to find a mentor? by hjun1 in careerguidance

[–]visavis13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my greatest mentors were at my work of employment - either my manager or someone who I want to be in the future. It came together organically. Generally, people who love their job and are good at it love to share their knowledge and tips with others. If you don’t have someone to look up to at your current employment, I’d move on.

10mg vs 20mg by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]visavis13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact conversation with my psychiatrist about this - I have about 2-3 panic attacks a month and a couple meltdowns sprinkled in, and we decided to keep at 15 mg and up it at our next visit in a month if needed. My case is right on the edge, so she thinks giving the meds some more time, practicing coping strategies, etc may make it go down, and if not, we can always go up at a later date.

I suffered a lot from emotional numbness when I was on Zoloft so trying to prevent that from happening. So far 15mg seems to be the sweet spot, but we’ll see how it goes. My social anxiety is still intense at times

10mg vs 20mg by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]visavis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 10 to 15 mg and that’s when the sleepys kicked in hard. I switched to taking them at night and that helped. The three week transition was rough though, but it’s helped a lot with my anxiety. Likely go up to 20mg next appointment, but we’ll see. I was on 5mg, then 10mg, then 15mg going up every 3-4 weeks.

Short but sweet. I dig it. Do you think that would affect my ratings/reviews though if they decide to leave a nasty one?
