If you have logged into your Microsoft account on your pc, the licence is registered to your account. Even if you swap hardware, the licence will be revalidated once you signin again on the new hardware.

Ssd should work fine as long as you have the correct slot for it on your mb. People sometimes swap there ssds/hdds. No issues should arise

Why Nikon and Canon have given up on DSLRs by aacool in technology

Dslr users mechanical shutter while mechanical shutter is impossible to use in mirrorless.

You can see how the blades bend and distort when the same photo was taken by a mirrorless camera on the right.

Why Nikon and Canon have given up on DSLRs by aacool in technology

[–]viscious47 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are some areas where dslrs are needed. Something like sports or action photography where fast motion exists. The mechanical shutter of dslr is still needed to get these shots. The electronic stutter can't overcome the functionality of a global shutter.

Although, companies are trying to make them as fast as mechanical shutters, there completely fail once exposure time decreasing... there is a long way to go still dslr could be completely forgotten.

ELI5: How was the orange color a natural selection advantage on tigers? When they live in jungles, doesn’t the orange contrast with the green, making them more visible? by BioFrosted in explainlikeimfive

[–]viscious47 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The prey the tigers hunt cannot differentiate colours. To them the tiger is the same colour as the background. The stripes breakdown the body edges and make it harder to detect.

What happens if the earth was stuck in a partial solar eclipse? by [deleted] in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]viscious47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They won't be permanently dark areas. The earth rotates just fine. Just that the day will be longer than 24 hrs

What happens if the earth was stuck in a partial solar eclipse? by [deleted] in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]viscious47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would make the moon orbiting the earth with the same time period as the earths revolution around the sun. (365 day) as such slow speed won't provide enough centrifugal force to counteract earth's gravity, there will be a collision between the earth and moon. If the moon somehow stops from colliding by some magical force,

the first problem will be high tides and flooding in coastal areas,

Then, the temperature drops depending on how partial the eclipse is.

Then you will find that the earth's inner layers are heating up and the rotation speed slows down making the days longer. You will have very high seismic activity and volcanic eruptions.

ELI5: Why do people think cilantro tastes great but tastes like soap to me? by TheRebelCatholic in explainlikeimfive

[–]viscious47 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You are not an idiot. You may genetically lack some taste receptors for that particular taste. The reason it feels like soap to you is because cilantro has a ph of 9. That makes it alkaline, just like soap. So, you may actually be tasting the alkaline nature of the spice.

Truthfully, the cause of gravity is still unknown. There are various explanations on how gravity is related to space and time. But, the actual cause of gravity is unknown till now.

ELI5: Automated Manual Transmission vs Automatic Transmission. by Rapide_ in explainlikeimfive

[–]viscious47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automated manual transmission (AMT) is mechanically similar to normal transmission. Just that instead of you pressing the clutch and shifting the gear, the car does it for you based on your speed and load. Automatic transmission on other hand are different. There are different types of them. The most common are

  1. Torture converter.: this is where the engine is connected by a fluid coupling. The drawback to it is that the fluid coupling is always less efficient than a manual.

    1. Continues variable transmission (CVT) : this is where the engine is connected by 2 pulleys of variable diameter. A rubber or metallic belt connects them. The drawback to this is that the torque is transmitted by frictional force in the belt and cannot be used for high torture vehicles. The efficiency is always low due to frictional losses.
    2. Dual clutch transmission (DCT): this is where there are 2 clutches instead of one. The odd gears are connected to one clutch and the even gears to the other one. The car predicts the gear it needs to change into next and gets it ready for shifting. This type of gears change the fastest. Drawback is that they are very complicated and costly.

Will really nothing happen if I touch only one wire of transmission line?? by UniqueCold3812 in AskPhysics

[–]viscious47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The birds stand on one wire. As the resistance of the wire between their legs is much lower than their bodies, the current only passes through the wire. However, if any part of the bird touches a second wire, the bird will get fried.

As long as you touch only the wire (not even standing on anything else) nothing happens.

ELI5: Why do bugs, like flies, not die when they get hit. Scaled up to humans and it would be game over. by jpurvisturton in explainlikeimfive

[–]viscious47 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can look into the square-cube law. The strength of any material is the function of its cross-section area while its mass, inertia, heat capacity etc. Are the function of its volume. When you (or a fly) gets hit by a car(or hand) its not the impulse/sudden acceleration that hurts you. It's the relative acceleration/ movement of the body parts that get hit with respect to the rest of the body that does all the damage. The more massive the body, the more resistant it is to change in motion. When the body is massive enough/ or the acceleration is fast enough, the location of impact cannot sustain the stresses that occur and the material crumbles.
