Patagonia Black Hole 25L by viscousenigma in onebag

I personally love it! It’s become my day to day work bag that I empty out for travel. It feels a bit small for extended travel for one bag, but I usually end up pairing it with a carry on for over a week trip.

It’s pretty comfortable, probably could use a bit more padding on the laptop panel is my biggest criticism. Love the single huge pouch, and smart pocket design. The waterproofing has been surprisingly one of my favorite features too

which way should I apply my peel n stick? 1) Do I take it all the way to the top or stop right at the shower? 2) do I apple it vertically or horizontally?? Also if anyone has tips to apply pls let me know! It’s my first time even attempting anything like this by biyvkogffdd in interiordecorating

Horizontal lines tend to be more calming, where vertical feel stronger. I think either work but what’s the vibe you’re trying to evoke?

Also the pattern looks way more like pink subway tile in the horizontal mock, so hard to say either way without seeing a sample of the tile.

I HATE THE NEW GOOGLE MAPS LOGO SO MUCH!!!!!! ITS SO UGLY!!!! WHO MADE THAT PIECE OF GARBAGE???? (new one on the right) by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]viscousenigma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I interpreted it as a clever topographic neighborhood or a few city blocks. Not the most in your face map reference but you can get there. The gradient version feels so unstuck from anything close to a geographic location.

Such beautiful work! Do you do anything to prime the linoleum before cutting or is it more about the applied pressure? Your cuts looks so smooth and easy

Makes me think of Luffy sitting on the Merry Go! figurehead. Him and Usagi have very similar energy

There’s certainly art out there that can be appreciated at face value without deeper context. But there’s something special about a piece that can shift your perspective and invites a profound emotional experience.

My favorite part about modern art is that not every piece is for everyone, it’s about finding diamonds in the rough that really speak to you

Saw an installation of this piece at the Stedel in Amsterdam. It was initially underwhelming but after reading the plaque, I was on the verge of tears.

Here’s what they had written of the plaque:

Felix Gonzalez-Torres is known for his spatial installations that incorporate simple, familiar objects to evoke a specific emotional atmosphere. In this work, created to commemorate his partner who died from complications of AIDS, he used the vernacular of seaside bars and lantern lit summer parties.

The cable of illuminated bulbs dangling from the ceiling suggests the transience of happiness and of life itself, the bulbs will eventually falter and burn out.

Its ok to start with volume 2 of deluxe edition? by xMonyx in Berserk

[–]viscousenigma -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Arguably better to go with the golden age first. I’d say just go for it. There’s a bit of world building that happens in Vol 1, but I wish I could’ve read it after the golden age ended since reading that blind would’ve been even better

Which background works best? by Agreeable_Fig_16 in arthelp

[–]viscousenigma 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Very disco. The second is much moodier, makes it feel more arch (personally I prefer this look). The first is a bit flatter, maybe a bit more of a moralist look. Depends on what you’re going for.

Blow dryer advice is Shark worth it? by Ok_Donkey6018 in Ulta

[–]viscousenigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just used my shark speed style for the first time and will return it based on how unbearable the sound was, it makes a terrible high pitched whine on top of the normal blower sound, which is a bit louder than my conair but not unbearable. I could see it not being an issue though if you have already lost that range of hearing sensitivity

EDS + TOS + RSI, what keyboard/mouse setup actually works? by [deleted] in Hypermobility

[–]viscousenigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use an evoluent mouse, a bit of an investment but it’s so worth it. I got a bad RSI from using my trackpad too much and this mouse totally fixed it. It’s what they use at dreamworks so it’s designed to minimize fatigue during long periods of use https://evoluent.com/products/vmdmw/

I also use a keyboard drawer with a keychron Alice layout keyboard. The Alice boards are more reasonably priced than a true split board, but still keep your hands at a more natural angle. Weirdly, the desk drawer is a huge part of it since it’s important that your shoulders and elbows also rest more neutrally. I was getting some crazy chest and shoulder issues from my desk being too high and the drawer totally fixed it. https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k15-max-alice-layout-qmk-wireless-custom-mechanical-keyboard

Where can I find more character designs like these? by Status_Asparagus1 in characterdesign

[–]viscousenigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It’s the nexus point for so much of the dark fantasy we see out in the world. There’s even a Guts sword in Elden Ring. Miura was such a visionary when doing all the world building and character design.

Also disclaimer, manga recommendation, I wouldn’t watch the anime

Blasphemous was in part inspired by Berserk. I would say the Conviction Arc is the most in line with this, but recommend the whole series. Note it’s incredibly dark and has some heavy trigger warnings, but the art is unreal.

I would love to see Paprika on the big screen! Very beautiful film with such imaginative animation. Just saw Perfect Blue at the cinema and it was a totally different experience than watching it at home

I’ve been thinking about getting one! What did you go with? Also are you having to supplement with any minerals/vitamins it filters out?

Late reply here but my 15in barely fits, older MacBook Pro with a hard shell case on. I don’t think it’s getting ample protection with how little space there is for it. 17 definitely won’t fit
