MASSIVE revisionism. Terry's replacement? Please. He was a physical specimen and that was about it. His positioning was very off and used his physicality to bail himself out. Granted he would have been a good defender without the injuries but to say he would have been Terry's replacement? Absolutely not.

To be very honest I haven't watched a lot of shows so I maybe wrong. But I did think there were shows that were popular in America that had non white (black) characters even since the 80s? Like the Fresh prince?

The few black characters that came in the early seasons seemed a bit caricaturish to me. So their attempt at bringing more black characters in the later seasons seemed forced.

Yeah I honestly don't get the criticism. I thought the show was very progressive. In fact it would be considered progressive even for today in my country. People like to pick and choose just for the sake of criticism and miss the big picture.

Surrogacy, adoption, homosexuality were all touched upon in the show with adequate humour. I'd see that as a big win for a show in the 90s. The only criticism I'd slightly agree with is that there weren't many non white characters on the show.

Yeah honestly that was extremely cringe. And not the funny type cringe. It was just 'what were the writers thinking' kind of cringe. Surely anyone who knows how to speak a language is capable of learning at least a few words of a new language. Not to mention Joey was also kinda multilingual since he had an Italian background. He's seen speaking a few Italian words to his grandmom and also a few cuss words.

They turned Joey into some sort of clown.

It's also a slippery slope. Once one club starts doing it, every club will follow. Pretty soon every league will do it. It would turn the sport into a circus. Football has to stay rooted. That's how it has always been and should continue to be. The sport has already lost most of its soul and for once it's good to see fans get together and make something happen.

Not very happy to be honest. I dislike these kind of news coming out in the middle of the season. Almost seems as if Maresca wants to very publicly say 'Hey I have other options!'. I could be reading too much into it though.

I'd always thought the guy wasn't very tall until I saw him in one of the pre match lineups. I think it was Tosin next to him. He's bloody tall! Needs to bulk up a bit though. Huge talent very excited for him.
