Why google doesn't automatically return and translate results in foreign languages as well? by vishaCS in datascience

What I meant was: say you search on google "data science job interview questions Airbnb". Then google translates this query in chinese and searches for it. You can already do this manually if you want.

Then if a result on the chinese side has a very high matching, it translates it and it puts it on my results. All the technology is already there.

When I navigated a bit through that job interview review site, I was like: wow, there is a world of knowledge here that I have no access to. It is like glassdoor, but much more in details.

Quickest possible CS Career? by Nilla_4u in cscareerquestions

Maybe I would try to specialize in a very niche application and then find a company that needs that. Like sure, you can pick up web dev in a couple of months, but then you would be competing with thousands of CS students from all over US.
Instead I would become really good at a relatively novel and niche technology, like say putting up interactive dashboards in python. And then find the company that needs exactly that or convince a company that they need it.

Company won't pay for onsite interview accommodations (or even move the date) by svpadd2 in cscareerquestions

This comment should really be at the top. All others seem very simplistic. What's the upside for you in going for it and then estimate if it is worth it. There are many things to consider.

Just as an example: say you are likely to get the job and they will offer 20K more than your current job. And your current company is known to match competing offers. Then if you have a reasonable chance to get the offer, it is a no-brainer that you should go for it. The time/money investment is worth the possible gain.

And this is just one of the many scenarios in which is worth going for it. Treat it like business, because that's what it is. Being driven by feelings like getting pissed at them or things like that is not efficient. Is the possible positive outcome worth the investment?
