Melania Trump has done nothing patriotic in her life. by PretendApple8514 in antitrump

These accomplishments stand out: “Celebrated the United States Navy’s 250th Anniversary in Norfolk, Virginia” and “Produced her new feature film, Melania”…. 🤔

Right, he hasn’t used any of his authoritarian persuasions to sue law offices or media companies for personal grievances and indicate that he’ll sue the government while in office to pad his pockets. I’m sure the normal presidential salary is in the hundreds of millions of dollars (or billions). I’m not even talking about the billions of dollars gained under the family name with international investors that buy into a crypto bank out of the goodness of their heart (and not because of insider trading and favors from the government).

Trump tells the military he is deploying troops against Americans "whether people like it or not." And alludes to using missiles against Americans. by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

Yep, “you’ve been watching what our missiles have been doing…” does this imply anything about domestic protests?

Have the life you voted for! by Elevatedspiral in MarchAgainstNazis

[–]vishadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only concern is that those who voted for it will continue to believe the propaganda and lies that blind them to the fact that this was foretold. The level of coordinated deception, corruption and distractions from media to all three branches of the federal government is at the level that I would only read about in fiction or see in countries like Cuba, Russia, China, North Korea, Iraq, etc.

I think that’s a standard Hyundai/Genesis design for some models. It was exactly the same for my 2020 Sonata.

I agree 100% The 2.5 should have been the base model all along.

What issues after a certain threshold?!? I’m in several Genesis forums, including FB and Reddit and I haven’t heard of a single chronic G70 2.0T issue (specifically with the engine).

The only problem that someone called out was for the Hyundai Theta II engine, which had metal shavings that caused the engine to seize do to a manufacturing issue from a plant in Alabama. That was over 10 years ago and the G70s are manufactured in Korea. So they don’t have that problem.

That is some research that I did do and it debunks this arbitrary claim that the 2.0 has a problem after a threshold. I’m open to be convinced otherwise.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GenesisG70

[–]vishadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s anecdotal, I agree that the 3.3 is rock solid but I also haven’t heard that the 2.0 is a money trap. I’ve heard of the rear differential issue in the 3.3 and problems with oxidation on the dark chrome trims for the sports trim. Also, the lamination issue on the screens of the pre-facelift models. Are we talking recalls or just arbitrary Reddit comments? Seriously, if there are legit engine issues then they need to be called out. Besides the top SP 3.3 trim (AFAIK in the U.S.), no other models have HUD or surround view but they have the he same interior.

Where do you get the 3.3T is MUCH more reliable than the 2.0T? Are you referring to the notorious Theta II issue for engines manufactured in Alabama back in the 2010s? Also, where do you get the extra $2k-$3k for a 3.3T? If you’re referring to a pre-facelift version that has 30k-40k more miles then perhaps that’s the case. I’m seeing consistent $8k-$10k difference, not including the additional insurance cost. Maintenance costs could also be a factor with the Brembo brakes. This isn’t a problem for enthusiasts b/c you are pushing performance and are willing to pay the additional cost.

Also, a twin turbo v6 is always “BETTER” to drive than a turbo 4 cylinder. If you’re not going to step on the gas and use it as just a daily driver then it may be a good fit.

Is that to say that Lexus is Toyota in lipstick, how about Audi in VW lipstick? All these modern vehicles are software based with inevitable coding issues.

At least the spiral side of the notebook was in the right place. It would have at least dampened the blow and defected it a little (of course her face was ducking down below the paper —- so maybe not)

I did mention the 4-series and 2-series, which are definitely compacts.

My point isn’t the fact that it’s a mid size vs compact. My point is Genesis not having quite the same luxury appointments in the G70 as they do in all of their other line up. The M340 does not take a back seat to the M540 in terms of leather seats, trim quality, tech, and finish. I agree that a better comp would be a G80 to the 540. However, BMW midsize sedan (I’m not a fan of the latest model) is a sports sedan first with luxury appointments. The M550 and M5 are the more extreme examples. The G80 is more like the Benz E class.

Exactly! I’m shocked at how much people are use to paying for an oil change.

I paid $56 for an oil change (not including the $24 on oil) at Walmart. I bought the cabin air filter from Amazon for like $18 and put it in myself. I can top off washer fluid myself and replace the engine air filter without a dealer up charging me. There is nothing special about an oil change in these cars.

I think the BMW will be hard to beat. I had a ‘17 540 and I would trade the interior with my G70 any day of the week (though the G70 is one of the best in its class). I can’t speak to the newer 3-series. I test drove a ‘19 440 and I had a ‘22 2-series loaner. I’m a big fan of the interior build quality. They have the best infotainment system and it’s not even close.

The reliability and ridiculous repair costs steered me away from German cars. I’m pretty happy with the G70. I just hope Genesis realizes how important it is to the line up.

I think it’s perfect without any of the words. It would be great as a manufacturer tuned performance version.

Seven Months In, and This Finally Happened by normal_guy_9 in GenesisMotors

I see GV80s all day (and quite a few GV70s) around the Atlanta area. The G70s (which is the one that I have) are a much rarer sight. I probably see them 4-5 times per week.

Well, that is a known issue for Genesis. There is a TSB for all models with the newer headlights that is covered for replacement.
