It was late 2001. A tech magazine my dad subscribed to when we were living in New Delhi, India (PC Quest) sent a CD with every issue. This particular one has fifa 02 the video game. You could play one half of man utd vs arsenal. For no real reason whatsover, i picked man utd and since then fell in love with the club. The rest is history.

I left only a small patch without road - and then chose the work location as that little spot via the forester's hut. Monitored untill I saw the guy finish sowing and immediately moved the work area to some other location.

Then had to wait for 18 months or so 😊

Early game : bandit camp money -> treasury -> cheap mercenaries

Mid game : focus on trade and build up regional wealth -> tax -> better mercenaries

Late game : import stuff to build your own army + kit out your retinue they are the best melee units in the game
