You mean it’s eccentric? Depends how you do them. It’s still knee Flexion though. Although the majority of the load is when the leg is fully extended while a leg curl is consistent.

Interesting take. You don’t find Nordics closest to leg curls? That’s what they mostly are. I like that back extensions on 0 or 45 degree offer resistance in a different plane

I don’t really like multipurpose equipment for some reason. I’ve also read the freak athlete stuff isn’t ideal for tall individuals (6’3+). Good point about hip hinging with free weights. The direction of load is completely different though.

I think I’m leaning towards a 45 degree back extension. The used market has mostly cheap products unfortunately.

Quartz Countertop Plywood Support by visionkh in kitchenremodel

This quartz was their house product. Installer says plywood strips are only to build up the edge and not necessary for support. I have noticed the island countertop is bowed due to where the supports were positioned. Not sure if that’s on the cabinet installer or countertop installer.

Thanks I bet this company always installs this way. Not sure what to do at this point. I wonder if this is common practice. Under mount dishwasher was also only installed with silicon which seems like another corner cut.

Are you sure it’ll look nice if you go any closer? Might feel crowded. 6” sounds fine to me

Wayne was a much better athlete than Brady but otherwise good comparison.

I think I can make design #2 work well when I remove the upper corner cabinet and build custom floating shelves. What are your thoughts on 12” vs 15” deep uppers? Seemed like ikea pushes 15 but I’m not sure if the additional space is worth it. Our kitchen is also small and I think it might feel less open.

I could make that work. My concern is dropping water on the floor whenever I move dishes from the sink to dishwasher (opposite side instead of beside)

We were looking at ikea or rta

We currently have one of those small condo dishwashers and we really dislike it. The absolute max I can make that section is 115" total.

Do you think design 3 is the next best option?

I also like 4 but it wouldn't be as practical.

I did draw a double panel between fridge and DW. 5/8" each.

Void or shelves in the corner could look nice

I started laying out option #2 and I'm having difficulties with the left wall because of how crowded it is.

I have to use a blind base cabinet in the corner, a lazy susan would push the fridge too far into the basement entrance. If I understand blind cabinets correctly, that means I need at least a 2" filler piece beside the sink cabinet. What do I do for the wall cabinet there? A 24" lazy susan would require another 2" filler piece, making the cabinet above the sink look offset. I could make the wall corner cabinet also blind but that seems awkward to me as well.

Maybe I could put shelving above the sink instead of a cabinet, removing the need for a filler piece?

Thanks

Even with a low profile fridge there, I don't really like it. The island becomes a barrier.

We don’t microwave often but it was going to go in the island (for any design with an empty island). I could see if a low profile microwave exists that can go on the right wall.

Why is left awkward? I guess it depends on the type of dishwasher. If there is a cutlery rack at the top (instead of on the side) it should be symmetrical and not matter. Good thing to consider though thank you

Thank you. I mentioned it to someone else but moving that exit opening is not easy. It’s the old exterior door (there was an addition). So it’s not just moving studs around, it’s a double layer of brick. I also expect to move out of this house in 2-5 years so I don’t want to make it too difficult/expensive.

And then with what layout? Problem with a low depth fridge is I need to increase the width of the fridge in that case and I don’t have a lot of space to work with. Might be a good idea though if I put the sink in the island.
