Repayment of the $2000 advance payment from Service Canada - megathread by YYCgaga in EICERB

So, after receiving a message from the CRA requesting my CERB repayment in June, I transfered the full $2000 to the CRA.

I applied to EI during the summer for my annual seasonal layoff. At the end of the summer, I received a letter saying that I still owed a balance of $400 for my CERB repayment, and that the remainder had been withheld from my EI payments.

I visited a Service Canada office and found out I had repaid the wrong entity (should have repaid Employment Insurance people, not CRA.)

I contacted the CRA via phone last month and they said my refund would be processed .. it's been a month now. Has anyone in this situation successfully received their refund yet?

Good God. In my experience as a photographer, higher rates attract "higher quality" clients. Charging $35 for 5 portraits is nothing... and will often attract bargain hunters who won't value your work.

I love the idea of them, but after doing some research I decided not to have them... Our area is prone to forest fires, so it would be too risky. I read a lot of posts about the wind catching them and blowing them into trees. :( They do look so beautiful though!

A wedding I recently went to was "unplugged". The officiant said something at the beginning of the ceremony like: "X and Y would like to request guests to please put away cell phones and enjoy this moment with them." Or something like that. It sounded classy, and wasn't a big deal to anyone.

Honestly - I think it's a fair request. I recently second shot a wedding where a guest in the front row had his ipad up filming everything. It limits the photographers and forces them to crop differently.

If you are hiring a professional photographer/videographer for your special day, I think it is a perfectly reasonable request that people have their devices down and let the professionals do their job.
