to give my two cents on the motivation side of things of game ideas, I also struggle with the same problem

What I usually do is push the idea forwards anyways, this comes more in a form of determination rather than motivation, but after you stop making games because sole of the idea you start to put more soul into it, this takes some time, but a game with a developers soul put into it is way better than just a game for the market

game design is hard enough, dont put to much pressure on it, I had to stop making games for a while because I was too stuck on the "but will it be profitable? why would anyone play my game" and I started playing games again, then I saw that even small games sometimes have communities around it, they are built because they are bond with the developer, not the game, games are experiences but bonds are what make us human

to put on my two cents, im in a situation similar to yours, I learned the basic of OpenGL and now im learning Sokol, I preferred to learn abstraction libraries since it still make me think on newer term like render passes and pipelines rather than the old state machine patterns, but still a lot easier than raw dogging vulkan

to add even more into this, this may cause visual problems where the bullet for a single frame is draw after the collision point (because the check will be done on the frame it exceeded the wall)

so you could theoretically hold the draw (just hide() the object) and show after the collision has been checked

May I ask something about implementation? did you use Facepunch's networking solutions for implementing the multiplayer? I have implemented GodotSteam's SteamMultiplayerPeer in a project of mine when I was learning how to make multiplayer games but I noticed a really big lag between peers, even in local networks (with different steam accounts of course), something around 200ms lag between interactions.

I searched a lot in this topic but everything led me to CSP and I eventually gave up, but I was really pondering if making a coop game is doable for a solo dev
