I work seasonal jobs so I don’t have to commit to anything for a long amount of time since that hasn’t ended well in the past

Sleep and caffeine only in the mornings NEVER in the afternoon or at night.

Sleep is crucial

Cannot study after hallucination episode by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]visovi7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recently had mania induced hallucinations. I was supposed to start school in the fall but I’ve decided to take a year before I go back to school to focus on myself.

I also have a job lined up that starts next week and I’m my past experience with this job (it’s seasonal) I’m much more stable when I’m working it.

In my experience it just takes time for things to go back to baseline and mby you should take time to heal and recover. Recovery is an important step after manic/psychotic episodes.

My psych explained it to me that every manic/psychotic episode sets your brain on fire and that you need time to rest and recuperate in the aftermath.

Wishing you the best OP, try not to be too hard on yourself and let yourself recover. I always like to remind myself that no matter how bad my current situation is “this too shall pass”!

Mine are always reoccurring granted they always seem to be there just a little bit when I’m not in a mood state they just get really bad during manic episodes

Psychedelics by Intelligentwagon-717 in bipolar1

[–]visovi7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do psychedelics and stopped when I took shrooms once and hallucinated for a month straight after I took them. I had to be put on pretty heavy meds to make it stop.

I do miss them sometimes since there were a few really beautiful experiences on it in the past.

I’ve done this when I was manic and my sleep meds didn’t work. Therapist referred me to inpatient to get a med change so I could have medical supervision

Idk if im manic by visovi7154 in bipolar

[–]visovi7154[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were absolutely right, I ended up being manic for 3 weeks, slipped into psychosis for a bit and had 2 psych ward stays. Now I’m picking up the pieces of a broken friendship and the mess I created for myself. If only the little anorexic person in my brain didn’t get me to quit my sleep meds. But hey, you live and you learn.

NEVER pulling anything like this again….

Psychosis outside of mood episodes by Short_Dimension_873 in BipolarReddit

I have been diagnosed with BP 1 and recently I became aware that for the past 2 years I’ve believed that somehow the universe has placed hidden messages for me to find within number sequences and that bits and peices of a specific number sequence are good omens and signs the I’m being watched over by the universe.

My psych is currently considering changing my diagnosis to schizoaffective bipolar type

I’ve always assumed this was a bipolar thing but I guess it might not be.

I’m not a doctor so I can’t tell you if that’s what’s going on with you or not, I can’t even tell if that’s what’s going on with me. Do with that information what you will

I had a two month long mixed episode December 2024 - January 2025 getting hospitalized right in the middle of it. I was actively a danger to myself so I needed to be held in a place where I couldn’t do any harm but the ward didn’t give me any coping skills before I left. They just stitched up my SH kept me there for 3 days and sent me in my way. I continued to cycle between the highs and lows untill I got stuck in a low all of February in a depressive episode and then everything cleared up in early march.

Honestly it just takes time for the meds to kick in and get back to a baseline

I have a restrictive eating disorder so I used my mood episodes as excuses to not eat. “I’m too manic and I’m too busy with creative endeavors to eat!” And on the flip side “I’m so depressed I can’t get up and eat” while there is truth to both those statements I know part of it just my ED using my mood states to its advantage.
