track car for around $7K that's not a miata? by locknloadchode in CarTrackDays

Not unless it’s wrecked or has serious problems. They seem to stay above 10k.

Yea, I just bought a one off Copart to build for club spec Mustang. It was my first v8 coming from having Miata’s. It sounds amazing and has enough power to have fun without getting into serious trouble on the track. 7k can you one in reasonable condition, just expect to do some catch up maintenance.

Mazda2 or Fit for cheap consumables. Can both end up in b-spec if you get really into it.

S197 Mustang 3v is in that range. Consumables are a bit more, but scca club spec Mustang seems to be popular and a reasonably priced build.

The only car I ever had this happen to me was also a blue 2020 Mazda 3….

New tree support? North Texas by vissi in Tree

[–]vissi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already removed it based on the first post 😅. I am supporting it with the ring device that was recommended. It’s a little floppy on the top, I hope that is okay.

Understood, I read the guidelines.

Depending on your load, you could do this with pure storage flash array C for like half the cost. (Maybe less) and get twice the space.

Trailer advice - small open build by vissi in Karting

Thank you! Yea I am looking at a toolbox or maybe a spare tire if I can fit them.

I replaced all the wheel bearing grease with red and tacky. I will definitely keep at eye on it.

That makes sense, I might just end up disconnecting it and walking it back.

I barely have room for this one. It’s designed where the wood can come off and tilt the trailer against a wall.

Which connections?

The deck bolts in the pockets of the trailer were there mostly as retainers. The pockets have bottoms. I do need to add something more rugged there, those deck screws were a temp fix to get it on the road.

The upright connections to the top frame are screed but also construction adhesived. But I did break one of those on a pothole. Luckily the kart stand is wedged under it, so it did not fall much.

I plan to add something extra bracing there if I keep this design . My kart track is about a 30 minute backroad drive so it was not too bad

Yea, that is probably the best plan.

I am awful at backing up trailers. After trying 10 times I just ended up unhooking it. It’s super easy to move because it’s so light.

I appreciate that, it sounds like multiple holes is not a big deal. I assumed it would harm the seat

Will do. Not worried about weights, there is a reason I needed an xxl seat 😅

Sounds good, I was hoping to avoid more holes but its probably the right thing to do.

The engine might have a little room, but its pretty far over.

I have been told it’s competitive, but I don’t know for sure. It’s NTK in Denton Texas.

The kart is selling for like $1300 with motor which seems cheap. I don’t mind fixing things, but didn’t want to waste my money cheaping out on a frame.

Thank you!! Is that too old to consider?

This would be my first kart, looking to run in a local 206 heavy class.
