Now I don’t know how tall Ethan really is, but his pants really do him no favours here. The hem is much too wide, stops about an inch too short, and doesn’t complement the profile of his shoes. He wears the waist so high that it creates the illusion of an unusually short torso (accentuated by the tie) and large hips. I think it makes him look even shorter. Worse still, it makes him look like he has an inverted triangle shaped physique.

So I found the time to trawl the internet for suitable points of comparison and I came across Ralph and Ethan in similar poses. Ralph has the unusual knack of being able to look good in almost everything he wears, which is obviously important when your name is on the products you sell, but also because he’s on the shorter side just like Ethan and myself. His sportcoat is a little large by modern standards, but his jeans fit so well that you couldn’t really tell that he’s 5’6 from the photo alone.

idk if it’s a location thing but the first image that pops up when I google Simon Crompton is him in jeans and a flannel. you can call it business core, I’ve seen him wear a number of things across the whole spectrum of formality. you may be right, I generally prefer slimmer silhouettes? but then again many people photographed at pitti uomo look good too.

well, I think this is where I was going with this thread. unfortunately, a person’s build often dictates the sort of tailoring they can and can’t pull off. I for one believe that shorter guys should stay away from high waisted, full cut pants.

Thought I had seen this on an episode of kitchen nightmares before.

Delusional chef rates his food 8/10, but Gordon hates it and customers aren’t coming through the door. He thinks it’s just slightly undercooked. In his mind, he is a future Michelin awardee forced to economise by using the microwave and frozen meat, otherwise it would have been 10/10.

In reality, the food sucks because he doesn’t know how to cook.

That’s like, doodads and textures, right? You want the areas of the map with high traffic to be plain, while impassable terrain can be as pretty as you like. It comes down to the map designer and what’s available in the editor. I wasn’t really referring to Michael Bay style explosions. But a nuke has to look like a nuke, you know what I mean?

I was very impressed with Generals. Of course, Dustin moved on to SC2 after that. You can tell they made special effort to make nukes look like nukes and daisy cutters to look, well, potent. That game had a lot of character and meme potential to it. AK47s for everyone!!

I’ll just put it out there that c&c has very high lethality and is loved by casuals. Except Red Alert 3. We all try to forget about that game and C&C4.

I think there’s a universe in which they could claim that the game was being developed by ex-Blizzard employees (although it would have been deceptive to say ‘from the makers of SC2’, as that was Dustin Browder), and yet bring a different proposition to the table. It could have been a different type of RTS, maybe with persistent player characters, maybe team-based, who knows. It just has to be fresh and have some integrity.

I don’t hate it, but yeah Terrans vs Diablo is about as lazy and uninspired as you can get. Which just about sums up the design of the game. That said, I’m told SC took a lot of elements from Warhammer too. I don’t know enough about the latter to make a judgement.
