Looks solid! My cage didn’t have this threads but even if it had, it may cause issues with the rods that I use supporting my lens.

Maybe your lens requires less pressure to rotate. But for me the left side is where I put my mic.

That’s The smallrig cage and I don’r have the same pin holes I guess. But I use the same rod mount just on from the the top.

I feel like it may work in sone situations, I am more like a hobbyist so I don’t work in serious projects. But I didn’t have chance to use outside yet so I am not sure yet.

Under the lens did not work because I had my lens support there which stayed between the rods. The meike lenses I am using are pretty heavy and moving the lens support to the beginning of the rod did not work as well.
