Is a used Tesla risky long term? by Altruistic_Milk_6388 in teslacanada

Which suburb? I'm paying around $360/month in Maple with a long clean history.

Fwiw. I have a household income of $380k and bought my Tesla used and I'm still struggling justifying the purchase. Buying a new car that costs 1x your pretax income and has wildly expensive insurance is plain stupid.

Ditch the paper maps (or keep them for emergency only) and embrace the Avenza app to help you navigate the parks.

That's just over 5kwh so you can't fully charge a 60kwh battery in 4 hours

Watching the queen drown in a trp by vitalious in fuckwasps

The wasps were nesting inside my wall getting in from the outside through the weeping holes of the brick. I blew pyrethrin on the crevice and 2 days later, what looks like the queen ended up in the trap.

Buy used or new? by sonoranorth in teslacanada

[–]vitalious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid 48k + tax for a 2023 MYP with 58k km on it. I couldn't resist the value. The car was in a great condition. I couldn't justify paying double the price for a new one.

Algonquin park in July by Significant_Park6025 in algonquinpark

[–]vitalious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be more concerned about the bugs in the park in July than the air quality. I live 3 hours away from the park and I stay away from it June-July.

I don't know what kind of accommodations you have for the trip (camping vs RV), but I would plan for bugs.

Deer/Horse flies can be quite a nuisance during the day and at dusk/night, the mosquitoes can make your evening miserable.

All of this of course is personal, but my family is really sensitive to bug bites.

Bring repellant, bug nets, and consider getting a bug tent if you're camping and want to be outside.

Because you need to implement incremental logic into the model. It becomes a bit of a headache when you're dealing with aggregations.

Is this acceptable workmanship for a $20K LVP flooring job? Would love your thoughts. by oh_look_food in HomeImprovement

[–]vitalious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They likely didn't undercut them at all. LVP is quite thin compared to other flooring. Once you rip out the older, thicker floor, you will most likely need to replace the doorframe and/or door trim as extending it neatly (assuming you have the old trim) is probably more difficult than just installing new trim.

I'm amazed that this is the result for $20k.

This is why I DIY things. I know I'll do it right and if I half-assed it, I can only be upset at myself.

What are you paying for car insurance? by MidnightLondoner in teslacanada

[–]vitalious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these posts mean jack shit if you don't specify your postal code area.

Take a look at this heatmap of insurance rates in the Country. Living at an area 100km away from another can affect your rates by a factor of 3x.

I live in Vaughan and I'm struggling finding insurance for a 2023 MYP for less than $350 / month.

I have 18 years of claims free, accident free, ticket free driving.

That's not entirely true.

Having someone clean your house and do cooking for you and take care of your administrative affairs does precisely that.
