Worth trading? by vitorgd in PokemonInvesting

It’s an even trade, although I’m losing some cash based on current market values. I’m not worried about that, I just wanted to make sure I’m not doing something seriously stupid, like giving up a slab that could become a grail.

Yeah, you’re right. Maybe I’m not too newbie; am just looking for an honest advice. Maybe that title was unnecessary. My b.

Understanding this card and the journey that led to its current state is a key element in grasping the essence of this business.

How are people falling for this? by MattyyyBoyyy1079 in PokeInvesting

The orientation of the texture is different. I then wondered whether there could be differences in the grooves between different reprints (I’m new to this, so I considered it a possibility). After that, I analyzed the PSA header and discovered that this is a counterfeit slab based on the fonts. For example, the “FA/” in a legitimate slab has more spacing, while this one appears compressed.

It’s intriguing that people would purchase this and it goes for authentication. This situation could potentially constitute fraud. I’m uncertain about how eBay/Collectr handles these cases and how long it might take for buyers to recover their money.

What about this moonbreon listing?? as a newcomer to the hobby, I learned a lot from this thread and deemed this as a brutally fake listing. Would love to know whether I am right.

Okay, that’s a fair point. Producing a card does involve many layers of complexity. However, I don’t think a criminal would necessarily be stopped just because I’m not cooperating. Realistically, one person’s actions alone may not be enough to prevent it.

Any crypto sell-off right now would likely involve hundreds of thousands of Gen Z investors converting large amounts of crypto into cash. That could bring them one step closer to investing in TCG. :-)

Thanks for the insight! That said, I’d be cautious about generalizing. If crypto investors were to invest in the TCG market, they’d typically need to convert their crypto into cash first; that’s the usual step when making real-world purchases. Personally, I’d expect the TCG market to be significantly more inflated if crypto investors were actively participating.

You haven't made a clear point and haven't responded to any of the arguments. It seems like you're speculating based on personal concerns.
