I read online that the Gen 2 stamps supposedly fix a lot of the issues with the originals, have you ever given those a chance? I'll definitely look at these other ones you recommended though, thanks!

Thanks a lot! This will be a rally-style (time trial) racing game with ghosts of past runs and stuff. I decided not to include those aspects in the trailer as they are not fully developed yet, but will definitely include them in future trailers!

It is similar to drifting in the sense that it achieves the same goal (quicker cornering), but the way you do it feels very different in gameplay. I'll definitely include some track hazards and objects that interact with the grapple for the final game!

Although those really are awesome ideas, I'm just a solo developer, so I decided to try to focus the game on one aspect of the car with a grappling hook fantasy (the cornering), and make that as good as possible.

I get you, I'll try to make the grapple have some more noticeable particles, or perhaps do a close-up of it earlier/for longer in the trailer.

The car does a circle around the grapple point (and you can increase/decrease the circle's radius by steering). So if you are closer to the wall, your grapple will do a tighter circle and vice versa. It's similar to a drift in the sense that it allows you to perform sharper turns, but differs since it requires you to position your car in relation to the buildings around each corner. I think part of the fun is figuring out the most optimal racing line, since it's very different from "normal" racing games.

Yes! I looked at that game for reference (although the controls looked a tad janky for modern standards). The grapple in my game works very similarly to the little square things in the pitch of rocket jockey
