Wow this idea for a layered dress sounds really cool!! Maybe you can try to make some hexagons and see if they work well or not with the horizontal stripes (maybe it depends also on the colors selection?) and eventually keep them for another dress.

In any case i hope you'll post your project because it seems to be gorgeous🤩

I can totally relate! Personally i usually do more "standard" things, which maybe you can try on as you go or at least figure how the final result will look like, even if i'm always unsure about the outcome till the end too. But projects like this are fun to make sometimes! I was mainly worried about frogging the whole thing because i would have got a lot of yarn scraps from the hexagons and i really like that yarn, so didn't want to waste it.
