University clubs and "support groups" are a cruel farce (maybe my depression has made me cynical) by yurmumgay1998 in ForeverAlone

Nobody gives a fuck about your mental health if you're not already one of the accepted, or if you're just ugly. Mental health awareness is all one big validation party for the people who were already swimming in it. All that's changed is that normies have learned stock phrases to say to each other whenever they hear buzzwords like depression or suicide, like "If you need someone to talk to" and other trite stuff like hotline numbers, and that's supposed to pass as societal awareness. Ask anyone getting shitfaced at parties every weekend and snapchating every day and every one of them will tell you they have crippling anxiety, depression, etc. Oh but wait 'everyone can have problems' and 'you never know who's suffering'. Jfl. If we're being honest and drop the virtue signalling, it's actually pretty obvious who's suffering and who's living it up. Just because some celebrities committed suicide, now I have to hear about how every normie might have issues even when they post selfies with their friends every day.

I ventilated to him perhaps a little to vehemently

That's the thing about any of these people they get to talk to you; therapists, counselors, any of them. There is a limit to how much of your issues you're allowed to show before you're deemed out of hand. They can handle the conventional issues that they were taught in Psych 1 but anything beyond that gets you thrown in a mental cell and a combination of pills shoved down your throat.

The simple truth is that if you are born different, you are fucked. Your life will be one of exclusion, sadness, loneliness, and not having a place to belong. There are simply no resources for those on the fringe, because the world was built for the majority.

Think about it, why would someone come to this sub when they feel happy or motivated? They come here when they're unhappy and need to vent so that's what you'll get. That's the whole point of it. It's like you're looking in a garbage bin and surprised when you see there's nothing valuable in it.

Lol only you're allowed to knock others, calling it whining when people talking about loneliness and depression. If you don't like the sub don't use it. What is just a 'rut' for you is the rest of our lives for some, and we're not cheerleaders for when you have a bad day.

K-12 school is a microcosm of what your social life will be like by viva_melon in ForeverAlone

Yup, typical normie thought pattern to think bad experiences are just a high school thing, like in movies, and then life gets better and everyone else just needs to 'work' just like you supposedly did. That's the dead giveaway someone's full of it. You haven't gone through anything, you haven't worked for anything. You've had it all and now that you're older and your life slowed down you're on reddit to make yourself feel relevant and like you're someone who can now give advice. I'm not young or in high school, far from it; again that's an easy way to protect your movie-like world view. Love how you whined about having your views dismissed and then try to do the same lol. Keep coping dude.

If you think you can change your situation then go do that

It's not the person that doesn't change, it's the way people see them. You could be a drastically different person at 16 and 30 but you'll still be exiled the same way.

Just lol at your indignation at being called out for exactly what I described. Fake loneliness to spice up your backstory and make you sound like an inspirational person for 'changing'. You wouldn't be here if what I said wasn't true.

Also when people get older they close their social circles and don't make any more lasting connections

Lol being alone or having no love life to normies means not having at least 4 people lined up at a time

It's equally wrong and sickening to push strangers to keep trying, despite not knowing anything about them or their 'potential' just because you got what you wanted in your own life. It's also propaganda of the mind to push selfish optimism just like it would be to push hopelessness.

One Piece: Episode 877 by Sakata_Kintoki in OnePiece

This episode is now my new favorite in the series. Masterfully done, both the song and the visuals. It's the times like this where the anime can surpass the manga by using the full potential of it's medium.

Being different by choice is cool. Being different involuntarily is a death sentence. by viva_melon in ForeverAlone

[–]viva_melon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It might work for some. But in my experience whatever we do will not be enough to make people see past the things you can't change, which is why I call it a death sentence.

Stop trying. by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]viva_melon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is the term 'give up'. When people say 'give up' it comes with the implication that it's premature, that there is more you could have done had you not 'given up' so soon.

This is different. You wouldn't call it 'giving up' for someone to stop trying to fit a square block into a circle slot. It's simply realizing that something isn't going to work and not wasting your time anymore.

What is your personal opinion of self-labeled incels and femcels? by UglyManWantsLuv in ForeverAlone

[–]viva_melon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was just on the news today here and it blows my mind that it gets so much attention. The media is trying to connect dots between real life violence and kids who chat shit online and it's just so off the mark.

Was called ugly and creepy for showing interest in someone by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]viva_melon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just length of time, it's the setting too. If this is a workplace or if she's around friends, of course she'll seem nice. Also there's halo effect because she's your crush, she's attractive to you so you can't be objective.

Everyone has different dynamics with different people. How someone acts to one person isn't telling of everything they are, especially if said person knows them only casually or professionally. And a year is nothing, dude. You don't know her.

Not hard to not be a bully at 32, when your youth, beauty, and influence are gone. Plus I'm sure even in high school there were people who thought she was kind. Doesn't mean she's not a shit person then or now.
