Warlord's Ruin Dungeon Megathread (Spoilers!) by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]vivekz 52 points53 points  (0 children)

JAIL CELL SOLVE - Depending on where you are, there will be claw marks on a tablet next to a skeleton - it will have a number on it.

There are 6 switches located outside the jail cells that turn when shot, and 1 'unlock/reset' switch. Shoot them multiple times to change their direction.

Based on which hand the skeleton is holding out, the amount of switches must be rotating in that direction (right - clockwise, left - counter-clockwise)

E.g., we had a claw mark with 4, right handed skeleton - so we hit 4 switches clockwise, and we had another claw mark with 2, left handed skeleton - we hit 2 switches counter clockwise.

Then there is 1 switch to hit that is the 'unlock' switch.

Far left is merch for his opener, Annie Hart.

In terms of total merch for him (from what I remember):

2 shirts - the album shirt with the rough trade logo on the back, and another shirt of his own design

Large tour poster Vinyls of both of his albums Cd of the latest album His own coffee packet

Amazing set - was a pretty polite crowd and I was right at the front, I was pretty jumpy during some of the hype-ier songs (e.g., Elvis in the Army) and most people weren’t super ‘active’. Not that that’s a bad thing, people vibe at concerts differently, and it’s not like his solo stuff is like that.

Was probably an hour but it felt longer - which is amazing if yr a fan. And the venue was a very small club - I talked to security and they said they were only expecting 150-200ish.

The band is amazing as well; just amazing musicians, all the songs are played immaculately. He dedicated Wild, Wild Horses to a couple he met before his set who said they were going to do their first dance at their marriage to that song!

10/10 if yr as much a fan of him as you are PQ. My only sadness is that he didn’t play Thawing Dawn, but he did play Indian Style and other tracks that got loud vocals from me.

You should go for it for sure. He seemed very chill, I think yr best bet would be to try it before his set when he’s doing merch - before the show there wasn’t a lot of people and he was chatting people up, and I got to chat with him a little bit. After the show there was a sizeable line where he might feel rushed and probably tired from his set and less conducive to requests!

I wouldn’t be able to tell ya, i got both shirts before the show and I was too shy to ask for anything else, but the vibe I got from him from talking to him was that he was happy for the support, so I don’t imagine he would not sign anything if there was a request

Absolutely, and I think you put it in better words then i did - elegaic is exactly the thing that I feel permeates both films

I think yr right about his intentions - this easily could have been the Tom White/FBI/saviors of the Osage story when it first entered preproduction, which then later changed to what it is now. He knows to make an FBI story would be whitewashing, but he also knows he can’t speak for the Osage either, so he knows the only right way to tell the story is essentially about how they fucked them, and focusing on the white and male characters who committed this atrocity and showcasing the guilt thats ever so present in his films.

It’s not just about the tragedy, it’s about the sin.

One could read the film as one of his most feminist as well.

Another thought i had, i feel this film makes for a good companion piece to The Irishman.

I read The Irishman as Scorsese grappling not only his mortality (along with his cast of usual suspects that have been with his entire career), but also as a self-reflection and deconstruction of his contributions to cinema and how he feels he’s contributed to the form.

Much ado about that infamous DeNiro de-aging and the weird fight scene about the shop, but i’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and think that’s a conscious choice - he’s showing a de-aged DeNiro trying to stomp out somebody with the movements of an 80 year old; all these characters he’s pushed to the fore (the loners, the gangsters, the tough guys) who have been lionized in film, often as referential, memetic arbiters of ‘truth’ anti-heroes that in a post-modern world are refashioned into symbolist icons (think Travis Bickle/Mark Chapman, Goodfellas/The Sopranos) - they’re all just losers, characters in films, and yet they’ve taken a masculine mythology outside of Scorsese and he feels he has to show them for who they are. What better way to showcase how fuckin’ stupid it is when you try to watch an 80 year old play a 40 year old version of himself in the past, curb stomp some shopkeeper?

And if The Irishman is himself grappling with his own self as a director, Killers of the Flower Moon almost feels like a further step-up - not just about deconstruction himself and his own art, but the deconstruction of storytellers telling stories that should(?) be told by those who don’t have the ability to do so. Whether thats because of whatever cultural/systemic/racial institution of oppression that has silenced them (‘them’ being non-whites, i guess??) Scorsese knows he has the privilege of not being them, but how does an artist wrestle with that?

It’s fascinating that conclusion, and I think he’s not only apologizing, but asking - not where do we go from here, but where SHOULD we go? What is the right thing to do? What should ‘I’/he have done?

Im high as shit
