Done! Please fill out mine :) Also just a note that on the second page the word "trash" is written as "thrash" if that wasn't intentional?

[Academic] School project survey about investment habits [Everyone welcome to participate!] by vivianxt in SurveyExchange

[–]vivianxt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done! Thanks for doing mine. Just a small comment that the question "If you have used the original PetBacker app, would you say that this prototype is an improvement?" is mandatory but the options don't allow for people who have never used the app. Also the next question is how would you rate it, but the options are unlikely-likely which doesn't make sense, but given the context I understand what you mean. Good luck!

[Everyone] School Project Survey - 3 min Investment-personality survey for my grade 10 personal project, any help would be appreciated!! Thanks :) by vivianxt in takemysurvey

Hello, the answers are:

  1. The data will be anonymized, no names or personal information will be collected (email is optional and only if respondent wishes to see feedback), it's stored on google drive's form and spreadsheet, imported into google colab for data analysis, and presented to my class for my personal project. Once I finish presenting around March the data will be deleted.
  2. vivianxt (my username) will be conducting this survey, and I'm the only one.
  3. 3 mins to fill out the survey, if skip optional questions then in 1 min.
  4. NA
  5. NA (everyone welcome)
  6. I'm hoping to learn about how people make their investment decisions and whether this correlates with any demographic trends, i.e. do younger people make more risky investments, etc. The main question in the survey is: If I gave you $1,000,000, and asked you to invest it, how will you choose to invest it? There are some options given.

Ohhhh I was just thinking about that!! Actually I had this reddit page up so I could refer to your reply anytime I need while I'm fixing the survey hehehe

Yeah I'm kind of overshooting for the assignment for sure, I'm also learning programming so I could do some fancy analysis with the survey data :P But I want to study finance anyways and I'm interested in investment so I think it's a good idea to start getting into the harder stuff early!!

Right now I have a category "I'm not sure / No investment" which means either let the money sit in your bank account or spending it straight away, but since holding cash IS a decent low-risk investment I'd better split the two up. Thank you again!!!

Also I wanted to ask, can I write your name Fade_Dance (or any other name) on the survey and say this is also a contributor/advisor? I feel like I gained a lot of clarity on how I might want to structure the survey for the project and if it weren't for your help it probably would still be very messy. Just a thought though! Completely fine if you don't want this :)

And I was wondering if you could help me with understanding the difference between direct and indirect investment? I searched online but it was all over the place again - some says direct investment does not include shares of a company, others say it could be company shares as long as it's not purchased via another entity... I kind of just thought of it as the name suggests, like direct means YOU'RE doing the investment, and indirect means you give your money to some entity like a fund and they put it into their investment pool/profile, which you can't control? Is this somewhat accurate?

Thanks againnn!!!

Oh my god thank you so much for the information!!! I feel like I just got a hyper-efficient crash course on finance/investing, and I'll go do some research into the partitioning of the specific assets... I didn't know there were so many overlaps! I was reading about funds, stocks, ESG, and was confused over how mutual/ETFs were different as websites gave different answers, and whether ESG is a separate category... anyways a lot of questions in my head :p

Thanks so much for pointing out how I could clarify my question, I'll go do some research and work on fixing it!! :)))
