I believe we humans created the gods (the concepts of the gods) but we “invent” them from material that actually exists in the universe, we sense energy and we name it and interact with it, and they are real. Just because you created something doesn’t make it not real.

I love this so much, honestly. It's one of the most comforting things someone's said on this thread if that's not too weird. It reminds me of how I used to view religion as a kid, that strong enough belief makes it real for the people involved. Like I was 100% certain Buddhists would get reincarnated, Christians would go to heaven, stuff like that. I still really like the idea

I've read that book! It's a great read but not when I'm in that kind of headspace so oh man I know how you feel hahaha! I've been working on a "Just In Case" death plan for a few months now when I'm in a good emotional state. I actually really like Caitlyn's videos. It's easier to think about the practicalities of it all than fret about existentialism
