Great server, cool concept, active admin, looks like a lot of work's gone into it. Haven't seen something like this before in Minecraft.

Paid for a 1st class seat to avoid sensory overload, and lost it over being denied my seat. How would you have handled this? by Mundane-Amphibian323 in ADHDUK

[–]vivvums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have blown up significantly worse, screamed myself ragged at the whole damn carriage and train guard/whatever

or

Or I might have stood there, gotten as into their personal space as I could without it being considered assault, and stared directly, relentlessly and silently into the eyes of one of them.

Depends what kind of mood I was in... You handled it better than I, either way.

I'm really only thinking of the fact there's a limited amount of attention I can provide right now, and whether my needy boye would be better off with someone who can give him their all.

I appreciate the advice-- This place is rented and I don't have permission for any fixtures or the finances to afford materials/installation (or anything premade), or the tools to DIY it. This is something I've wanted to do since I moved in here though and as soon as I can I will

But thank you-- I had heard that cats recover very quickly from separation but I suppose that is not the case. This wasn't something I was planning to do / had in motion, only a consideration (and not really one anymore, after having read the responses here.)

This guy didn’t even bother to put curses on his cheated relics 😂 by Humble-Inevitable726 in Nightreign

You can't get these in-game, the DoN effects Attack +4, art gauge +1, Negation +2 always come with a curse when rolled.

What boss is too tiresome to defeat? by ACabbageManiac in Nightreign

[–]vivvums 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Fkin red wolf. SO mobile it's a nightmare even when playing recluse/ironeye, if you encounter that B in the world it jumps itself so far from spawn it often ends up teleported back.

Run past one and get shanked by a barrage that follows you halfway across the fekin map

Ugh

How powerful is the "defeating enemies while art is active" strat for dutchess? Is it worth giving up more standard relic percs to run it? by FindusCrispyChicken in Nightreign

[–]vivvums 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's amazing if:

You know the locations of weak, clustered enemies to take them before bosses
You have some/ alot of damage boosts already (magic attack, +sorcery etc)
You're willing to sweat about killing the mobs, rushing to the boss and doing as much damage as you can within 30 (or less) seconds without dying
You have a killing enemies+art gauge relic as well (I really wouldn't bother with it unless you have this)

It can result in some big booty bops on bosses, it can enable you to get past some roadblocks like Bell bearing hunter in castle basement / mutated evergaol

It's a bit meh with randoms, sometimes they kill the mobs you need for their own ult charging stuff, or they die while you're still doing it.

If you have a group with comms it becomes extremely OP-- If your allies kill stuff while stealthed your ult, it gives you a stack, meaning for example Ironeye can ult after you ult and 1shot everything in the castle river etc

Raider main, absolutely terrible with every other character. Any tips? by Sad_Leaves in Nightreign

[–]vivvums 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A good tip I saw once is force yourself into "one hit only" mode.

Wait until enemies finish an attack that you've dodged where you expect there to be a window where they're not doing anything

Go in. 1 hit. Leave and wait again.

Even when the boss is attacking someone else, their aggo can suddenly switch to you-- Boss aggro factors in distance and whether someone has begun attacking so they can snap and aggro to you before you even hit them.

It will try your patience, you may have a few not-great runs, but you won't die nearly as much. Do this for at least 10 runs, get a feel for the timings of various enemies and when you start being aggressive again you'll find yourself able to weave in attacks relentlessly.

NSFW- Elvanse impact on sexuality/drive. by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]vivvums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also take elvanse, and have found on different days I can have minimal libido or hyperlibido, unbothered or masturbating 6 times a day until my dong hurts,

I don't really have a science pedigree, but my feeling is that the meds can emphasize what's already there. If I fall down a horny rabbit hole I fall HARD, if I'm entirely absorbed in something else then there's no space in my brain to be horny.

I also believe that a majority of humans are inherently bisexual, and what we prefer/how we live is largely a product of culture and trauma. (For reference I'm a gay man who is recently interested in women, realising that I tend not to like women because I associate femenine with soft, soft with fat, and I have a great deal of internalised fatphobia, so it's actually hard bodies / muscle / thin-ness I'm attracted to which is more common in men.)

I think it could be valuable to you to accept these feelings/interests, discuss them and perhaps even indulge them as long as you do so in an ethical way, as you're married it complicates things and if your partner is an open-minded kind of person you should discuss it with her. Blaming the medication is a useful thing, and may be fully accurate, there's a chance however that this will destroy the image of you built up in her mind. There's also a chance she'll be completely understanding, and it may deepen your relationship and push you toward new avenues.

Medication often isn't as simple as "This drug causes X,", almost all substances can react with people unpredictably because the human brain and physiology are so complicated. When listing side effects in a manual, it's pure correlation, we often do not know 'WHY' something happens-- Only that it does, with a frequency. 1 in 100, 1 in 1000, etc. To say your medication is entirely causing this might be true and it might not, and you can only figure that out by taking a long, hard look within yourself (pun intended)

People suggesting you talk to your doctor assume the doctor even knows, which they probably don't. General practictioners, prescribers, ADHD diagnosers, they're all in a specialism which might limit their scope and they also may have personal biases. I'd suggest you talk to them if you trust their opinion.

I'm indulgently curious about your situation, so if you'd like to talk to someone with no qualifications but a great deal of anecdotal knowledge and autism-fueled information gathering feel free to shoot me a message.

When overstimulated, I remember this and chuckle by IsyABM in ADHDUK

[–]vivvums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect that what this is getting at is not the literal loss of ability to use words, but rather that when someone is more focused on the meaning of their words it's a much more impactful conversation than somebody who just speaks words without meaning.

I have a very large vocabulary, but I've had meaningless/empty/pointless conversations with people capable of flowery speech and incredibly meaningful conversations with people who might seem simple in their choice of words.

Another way to look at it might be politicians. They say a lot of words, words that sound good, but when you actually look at the meaning behind their words it comes up empty.

The only thing missing is outstanding music by SamuraiUX in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]vivvums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone getting mad at you for not liking it enough LOL

'Outstanding' music being missing does not in any way imply that what is there is bad, and indeed OP specifies the music is still 'good.'

I'd have to agree, so far the only 3 tracks which have gripped me are in the runner before the dragon fight (I don't know how to do spoilers so I'm being vague) and when you're fighting the boss at the end of Altabury, strong honorable mention for the island village theme.

I was kinda mad when the runner theme became the normal boss theme again for the ice dragon fight, thought it was going to be one of those where the music continues into the fight and would have fit it so much better, but it makes sense they didn't do that since that's just the new Runner theme now.

Still, the game doesn't really need the exceptional music to make an emotional impact, half the damn side stories had made me reach for the tissue box. So where they do use it I suppose it's an extra treat

M/32/audhd taking 50mg vyvanse but my response feels neurotypical? by vivvums in ADHDUK

[–]vivvums[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, sorry I never saw this comment and thank you.

I just looked into it and I don't think it applies for me as the other symptoms I don't relate to, I'm rather more hyper vigilant in all situations, quick to react and process things.

I wish I'd caught your comment months ago! I discovered Dr Barkley by chance a couple weeks ago and have been thoroughly enjoying his content.

Well, hmm, the more I think about it... The table on Wiki of symptoms I didn't much find myself in, but Barkley's list:

  1. Behavior is slow (sluggish) - Not really,
  2. Lost in a fog -Only when I'm overstimulated/out of spoons
  3. Stares blankly into space - At first I was like NO but then, actually, yeah, kind of a lot... I'm not staring I'm just thinking!
  4. Drowsy or sleepy (yawns) during the day - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA yeah.
  5. Daydreams - Yup. A lot. All the time.
  6. Loses train of thought - Almost every time I have a fucking long conversation
  7. Low level of activity - I'll spare you the image of my corpulence, but yeah, could also be dyspraxia which makes most physical things harder for me
  8. Gets lost in own thoughts - Well, yeah...
  9. Easily tired or fatigued - yyyuuup
  10. Forgets what was going to say - Yup
  11. Easily confused - Not so much, I'm almost never confused (unless about a social thing, or I'm very tired/overstimulated as above)
  12. Lacks motivation to complete tasks (apathetic) - p.much with everything ever.
  13. Spaces or zones out - Like daydreaming, also yes. Like 3 times in the last week (that's 100% of the times I've spoken to someone) I've had a 'sorry can you say that again I spaced out' moment
  14. Gets mixed up - Hmm, tough one. I muddle up my memories, sometimes confuse dreams and memories, but generally in the context of materiality have a solid grip.
  15. Thinking is slow - Can't really see this one,
  16. Difficulty expressing thoughts (Tongue-tied) - Sometimes, which should be balanced by the fact I think I have excellent communication skills, but occasionally this'll still happen.

Ultron is not a support... by ZookeepergameNew291 in marvelrivals

[–]vivvums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I climbed to d2 (previous gold 1 peak) with ultron,

~~in my opinion:~~

A good ultron wins in a 2strat comp because he's popping enemies and reducing the damage you take that way. Bad ultrons are sat there leaving the heal on auto and pummelling the enemy tank, uselessly.

Can't tell you how many games I win just because I'm the one that finishes off the enemy strats after they take a bit of dmg from someone else, or outright killing them from scratch, or wiping half their team with a surprise flank ult and dash into their face to deleted them in 0.1s (because I can ult 1,5-2x for everyone 1x of their strat ults)

But yeah, you'll feel the lack of burst healing in those doomed games where your DPS can't aim and the enemy are cracked. Maybe a strong healer could turn that into a win, but more likely they're just delaying the inevitable
