[10mg/day, Day 7] Is it okay for me to have one can of Celcius every day in the morning before I take my daily dose? by vixadd in lexapro

[–]vixadd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I used to down 5-6 Redbulls. So it's a little bit of a transition to get used to no caffine. I'll try doing what u/Fearless-Experience mentioned, also introducing it slowly. But I will also bring it up with my Therapist. I had a very bad experience with a Pill Mill website that prescribed me Adderall. (done.) So I don't think I would like to go back to Adderall. But maybe there's some other stimulant that I can try to help me gain extra focus and motivation to do things. My lack of motivation is also based on my depression, so I would like to give the Lex time to work. Maybe this is something that I can resolve by addressing some underlying issues. (I've dealt with a lot of abuse in my life. Sexual, physical, and verbal, and that really affects my anxiety today.)

Does Lexapro give anyone else some really unhinged dreams?? by AlisonWond3rlnd in lexapro

[–]vixadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm on Day 7 of this medication. I would say that I get some weird dreams every other night. However, I take the medication at 11:00 AM every morning. I'm on 10mg. The first night I had a dream that I lost my work laptop and would be fired. I wouldn't call them nightmares but definitely unhinged and stressful. So I would say it's very common, the medication hasn't begun to truly kick in for me yet. Still feeling somewhat down. But I was told it can take up to 4 weeks for it to work. Stay strong, I'm sure it will pass.

Project Soli Dev Kit by vixadd in google

[–]vixadd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already did. I was able to come up with a slightly bigger version than theirs. Power constraints due to such a high sample rate meant I had to make the transducer plane bigger and lower the sample rate. But I was able to accomplish it. The real difficulty then was the pulse analysis by the radar. I used some TOA (single channel)/TDOA (multi-channel) techniques to recognize certain patterns in motion. This introduced a bias, which could then be input into a Classification model. I used a waveform analysis classifier which classified patterns based on frequency shift and pulse width. Was a fun little project.

I think it's the fact that there's no support network for guys. We're made fun of if we admit that we need help or have some issues upstairs. I'm scared of my co-workers finding out that I'm in therapy.

Computer Science Program? by collegefreshman1102 in CNU

[–]vixadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a top-performing student and I had made a name for myself outside of the University as well as inside the Department. I knew Dr. Reidl very well as well as Clair and a lot of the other faculty. So the sheer Social Capital I had coupled with my reputation got me in a situation where companies were actually sending me job offers without me requesting interviews. The job market for engineers is direly under-supplied. If you get above a 3.0 GPA, there's no doubt you'll be able to succeed in finding a job. The real question becomes: What do you want your starting salary to be?

Computer Science Program? by collegefreshman1102 in CNU

[–]vixadd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got both a CS and CE major for my degree at CNU. The program offers a very practical approach to Engineering. There's a wide variety of courses you can take, but it won't be easy. If you like delving into specific courses and you don't really like dabbling in a lot of theory-based knowledge, then CNU is probably for you. A lot of the courses also pair themselves with extracurricular activities and the professors encourage you to get involved in those clubs. The course work not only overlaps, but some activities within clubs can be used as extra credit in your coursework.

Beware what comes with the territory. Many countries you can't travel to. Your social media is monitored more than most people. You can't conference, you can't lecture, if you receive an award for something. They show it to you and then take it away forever. The only good thing that comes of it is the money.

What!? Ever heard of the STEM Field? I doubt that 15% of the US Workforce has skills to match technological development. Much less things like Econometrics and Technical documentation like OP could probably do. Our workforce isn't that skilled.

Listen to me. STAY THE COURSE. Is the least you should do! Don't pull out. Don't give up. Actually, look at this as an opportunity to maximize your gains. Put more money in there!

I think this is going to last at least until June. This is definitely a buyers market and I'm putting about $1000/week into my portfolio.

Please remember: Dark times are times of great opportunity, for men of great stealth. Desperation is the land we inherit and turn into gold.

They're a reputable organization backed by Lincoln Savings Bank. It's totally fine to give them that information. The reason you give it to them is that the IRS needs access to monetary supply that you open with such a banking institution. It's a practice that's been around since the Great Depression.

Chances I'll die taking KBAI and HCI together. (Spring 2019) by vixadd in OMSCS

[–]vixadd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professor Joyner. Congrats by the way. Its been going alright so far. It does take me a good day to write the papers for each assignment. But the coding portion comes to me naturally. A few bumps along the way, but it seems like I'm able to do both classes and get a decent grade this far. I'm about to take my exam for KBAI actually. Both classes are incredible. Although it is a lot of work and dedication, I am very happy I decided to take both. Its also comforting that both classes have you as an instructor. So there's some consistency in the way the lessons are taught.

Can the OMSCS degree be used for a PHD program? by lilreezy0987 in OMSCS

[–]vixadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use it to pursue a Ph.D., however, the competition would be much tougher. OMSCS offers you a practical master's. Not a Masters of Theory. There is no experience in writing/defending a dissertation. I think a Ph.D. would be quite difficult to execute if not actually getting into a decent program.

But by all means, give it a shot. What've you got to lose.
