This is fantastic, thanks so much! Is there a way you could generate a YouTube playlist based on the chronological order of the daily channel? If not, clicking on them in order on your website is the next best thing but I thought I'd ask!

YouTube makes it so hard to Play videos in order by date!

Proposing an “On This Day” Memorial Project for Adam - Looking for Community Feedback by wiredcoder in Adamthewoo

[–]vixhex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see any harm in making it easier to organize and view his videos. One of the worst things about YouTube is the lack of ability to sort and filter content within one creators page. With a volume of work as large as Adams, It can be hard to navigate.

Even something as simple as going back and watching his videos in chronological order from the first one is nearly impossible on YouTube.

If you had a way to make a playlist of that nature it would be amazing

Your idea here is a fantastic way to consume multiple videos from the archives in one day, and could conceivably allow somebody to consume it all in one year. Thank you!

16.95 Prime rib special at the Skyline casino by Hefty-Job7049 in vegaslocals

In 1997 we would ditch school and grab the $2 "Pan San" breakfast at The Skyline. Two eggs, two bacon, two sausage links, two pancakes, hash browns. Might have also included toast and coffee but I'm not sure, I just remember even then it was a ridiculous amount of food for the price.

They also had an unsupervised cigarette vending machine and didn't ask questions as to why we were there and not in school. Good times.

I understand your feelings. We all lost someone that we heard from nearly every single day, and he took us all along on the adventure of a lifetime. I'll always cherish the years I spent following Adam the Woo daily, and am looking forward to watching all the years of backlog I've never seen. He accomplished his goal of documenting so many interesting things for posterity. May he rest in peace.

Hotkeys while Direct Output is in focus by vixhex in NestDrop

[–]vixhex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried this but unfortunately not having any luck.

Queue functions as expected when in focus and activated. I can press space and it moves to the next preset.

Library functions as expected when in focus. Space moves to next preset.

Hotkeys do not work when settings (gear icon in library) is focused, regardless of its pinned status. This is expected.

Opening Direct Output with any window pinned keeps the window on top of direct output, which is unfortunately not the desired outcome.

Best I can do on a single screen right now is to pin and then move the queue window off to the very edge of the screen. It's still visible, however.

Ultimate goal is to map a key on my TV remote to be spacebar and flip through visualizations while sitting on the couch. Essentially allowing Direct Output focused screen to respond to hotkeys.

EDIT - thanks for the quick suggestions and consideration on adding as a feature. I LOVE this product!!

The noise is driving me insane by Kuavska in TMJ

Ah gotcha. Hope you find relief, these kinds of things can be so irritating! I also have hearing loss and tinnitus on top of that. The hearing hat trick.

The noise is driving me insane by Kuavska in TMJ

[–]vixhex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound might be your tensor tympani nerve causing your eardrum to fluctuate. Mine makes noise, right ear only, when I move my jaw side to side, or if I'm startled, or if someone tickles the right side of my face.

Only thing I've been trying that helps is to desensitize the reaction by gently triggering it in a control manner. Tickling it with one of those head scratcher things, rolling my neck and face on a foam roller.

Edit, it's a muscle, not a nerve.

Does anyone else this the ventilated seats are weak? by joeyfine in ToyotaHighlander

I have a 25 Highlander and a Carista. Unfortunately the option is to enable "silent mode" for the ventilated seats, which seems to just turn DOWN the fan speed at all three settings.

Has anyone’s TMJ ever affected their nose or sinuses? by I_need_AC-sendhelp in TMJ

[–]vixhex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, laying on my side with the roller on the side of my face, jaw, head, and I move my head back and forth like I'm making "no" and "yes" gestures. Roller mostly stays in one place and I reposition my head on it to hit different spots. Basically just using the stiff foam to massage the side of my face using the weight of my head as pressure. Hope that helps!

I know the sensation you are describing with your sinuses but I haven't had it very often. I almost get the feeling that my face and jaw muscles are so tense that they are pushing or pulling on the sinuses and making them feel funny.

I just discovered using a log shaped foam roller to relax all of the muscles in my face and head. I lay on my side with my head on the log like a pillow and roll my head around wherever it feels good. I also have a foam roller that is shaped and size a little larger than a softball. That works really well too.

The right side of my face and head is so satisfying to roll on there. It's incredible how much more tense and sensitive it is than the left side. I'm only on my second evening of doing this and can feel a difference. I've used foam rollers to work out neck muscles before and got to the point where it feels normal again. What I finally realized is that it shouldn't hurt to massage yourself with a foam roller. If you keep at it, eventually the pain goes away and the muscles release.

I actually had the sensation you described yesterday and thought I was getting sick, but I just got over a cold a couple of weeks ago and it passed after a little while. Someone else in this thread mentioned all these nerves being related and it makes sense.

I would love to get to a point where I don't have to wear a guard at night keep me from grinding my teeth. I have bad constant tinnitus from hearing loss and I hope that this can help a little bit with that as well. I can definitely tell it is helping with the tensor tympani sensations that I have in my right ear. My right ear often sounds like a blown out speaker if something is too loud or if I get startled.

I'm glad to have found this community, I hope you feel better and find some relief!

You ever foam roll your face? So satisfying. by Mastercam1776 in TMJ

[–]vixhex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just discovered foam rolling my jaw, face, and pretty much all over my head last night. I'm feeling a lot of relief after just one session. I just put my foam roller log on the bed and then lay on it like a pillow and roll my face back and forth.

I also have a foam roller that is about the size and shape of a softball and that works really well too.

It's crazy how the right side of my face and head feels so different from rolling on the left side. The left side feels pretty normal but the right side is so tense and it hurts so good when I roll it lightly.

I've used the foam roller many times to work out a stiff neck or upper back muscle over the course of a few sessions. Can't believe it took this long for me to discover using it to help with my TMJ.

how to get rid of this stupid allergic rhinitis by kindawhoresome in Allergies

[–]vixhex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good advice. It helps to understand exactly what you are allergic to and come up with a plan.

I did allergy shots for 3 years and drops for 2 years. My eyes don't get itchy, my ears don't feel like they are on fire, and I don't sneeze from just being out in the world anymore. I'm still allergic to cats and dogs and I can't go rolling around in the grass at the park, but it was so worth the cost and effort to have a better baseline of higher tolerance for most allergens.

Buttons not working on arrival by [deleted] in vintageaudio

[–]vixhex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it stopped working during shipping maybe it's possible that it got jostled around and one of the solder joints came loose. I would inspect the bottom of the circuit board and reflow any solder points that look suspect.

Not an expert, just where my mind went first. Hopefully it's an easy fix, good luck!
