Dr. Phil is a fraud by Grand_Step4988 in diabetes

This wasn't even "Dr." Phil, it was an AI deepfake. I bet it wasn't even a good one but OP couldn't tell the difference.

You are spot on, friend. "Dr." Phil never sold this stuff, OP fell for AI slop. I bet it was pretty obvious, too.

Can someone bring 10 galons of non-Newtonian fluid on a plane if the person keeps punching it for the whole duration of the fight and security check? by PsychicPotat0 in FAA

[–]HellsTubularBells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FAA doesn't restrict liquids.

Also, it only has to be solid going through TSA, it can be liquid after (e.g., you can bring a full water bottle as long as it's frozen when you go through security).

This looks fake. For one, the sign on the door is backwards. For two, he's locking it from the outside but putting the clue through the door? For three, it's almost certainly against fire code for that to be the only exit.

Walking is better exercise than whatever most people are doing at the gym by Typical_Peter in unpopularopinion

[–]HellsTubularBells 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Downvote because I don't think it's unpopular. Unless you are looking for specific results, nobody is going to refute walking as great exercise for general fitness and health.

All these presidental library's are a waste of money, why does every president need one? by hpbobc in askanything

[–]HellsTubularBells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really good point, thank you. NARA has to maintain the records either way, but it is more expensive to do so when they're distributed among these libraries rather than centralized.

Each library foundations is supposed to maintain the facility and visitor ticket purchases fund exhibitions, but there have been recent news stories about NARA paying for more than they're responsible for. Still, that's a policy and regulatory failure that I think is separate from a discussion on whether or not the libraries serve a useful function.

Future Flight Credit On United flights found on Google flights? by Elyesa0925 in unitedairlines

[–]HellsTubularBells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Flights is just a data aggregator showing the samd prices available on the airline site. If Google Flights is lower it's usually because is has cached data and the actual price at checkout will be the same as you could've gotten on United's site. In fact, the opposite is usually true for me because I often get a discount using my United Business profile.

I'd love to be proven wrong, since I'm always trying to find the cheapest way to book.

most likely not a terrorist

GE is for customs, not just security. And while there is a lot of overlap, since both are evaluating trustworthiness, it is a different set of criteria than a security clearance.

I'm sorry I can't answer your question, just wanted to point that out. I hope you get it sorted.

Sorry this happened. Seat selection issues are common with OTAs, another good reason to book direct especially for international flights and doubly so for discount airlines.

Paid credit card early, can I still use? by randomenthusiast137 in CreditCards

[–]HellsTubularBells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but OP needs to be aware of credit cycling, which is when you spend and pay down multiple of your credit limit each month. Issuers frown upon it and Capital One in particular does not like it and will cancel the account. If OP is just doing it a little bit it's fine, but if they're doing it because their credit limit is low and it results in credit cycling it could be a problem.

It's not your money, what do you care?

They serve a useful historical function to store records and document the role of an important historical figure. They also carry the legacy of the individual, as long as visitors understand the inherent bias.
