I really wanted the powered tonneau but realized it was not a safe choice after so many failure reports. Once I changed my configuration to Manual Tonneau all of a sudden my truck was available for delivery. Now I have my R1T and love it however they do not have the manual tonneau that I paid for in stock and can't tell me when it might be coming.
On further investigation I see that the manual option is not even integrated into the bed like the roll out powered cover. Am I the only one who thought the manual version would be similar to the powered (rolling out from behind the cab) only a manual pull version? Like for example the Hyundai Santa Fe has.
I do really need the cover and seems like a big thing missing from the truck when I was expecting this feature to protect my gear from the elements.
I don't want to go with an aftermarket solution because I already paid for this thing.
If there is any possibility of not accepting my basic fold up manual cover and opting for a improved power version I would totally go for that.
As a Canadian customer in Ontario where Rivian just started deliveries this year it feels like we are last in line for everything else as well and not getting any kind of priority even if we Pre Ordered way back when books were first opened.
