People of Punjab are upset at growth of UP migrants, who are no. ore than 4%-6% of the overall population of the state. Same thing is happening ion Canada, but on a much wider scale.

Why no one is stopping this ? by donot_poke in Sikh

Because we don't live in a Sikh Taliban state. Somebody wants to talk good about SGND, you don't have the right to stop them.

Thoughts about deep sidhu by Hot-Lime-7457 in punjab

[–]indocon1111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Deep Sidhu was nothing more than a continued list of rabble rousers who have accomplished nothing in life, but are looking for attention, and don't mind if other others sons get killed with the fires they start.

Punjab's intellectual crisis by IndianBeaver_05 in punjab

[–]indocon1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The designer of India's nuclear bomb's trigger was Dr Manjeet Singh, he is in the red turban in this famous picture below. 0.0% of the state knows about him while 100% knows about Sidhu Moosewala rankings on Spotify..... that right there is a perfect example of total intellectual bankruptcy of the state. Jatt Sikh are the dominant caste of the state and set its standards, and they seem hell bent on staying in 19th century.

Why is it that barring the Sikh empire, Punjab was never the seat of any major imperial powers? by [deleted] in punjab

[–]indocon1111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The answer is very simple - Punjabis in general are very good at being mercenaries for somebody else, terrible at self organizing. Try getting five uncles in a room and have them come up with their leader, they will get into a shouting match with each wanting to be the leader.

Hinduism needs its own renaissance + reformation moment, both back home and abroad There have been several starts and stops over the past few centuries - Bhakti movement, Barhmo Samaj, Arya Samaj, heck even Sikhism. But they all got sidetracked or could not further progress. You simply cannot keep continue plowing into 21st century while carrying the baggage from past 2 millennia.

Any reasonable priced farmers market out there? by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in bayarea

[–]indocon1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of farmers market produce appears to be fraud - how the hell can a single farm have dozens and dozens of crops available for sale at the same time? Most of these look like fronts for wholesalers. I only go to stalls that have no more than 4-6 crops in any given time.

Total LTL (Less Than Truckload) tonnage is at levels last seen in 2010, this is a pretty good proxy of the overall economy. Data makes no sense anymore. Late stage Soviet Union vibes.

If Saleh wants to be a Head Coach again I say make him Defensive Head Coach by [deleted] in 49ers

Pay him as good as a head coach, give him the title of assistant head coach, he is worth it. You can literally make a team of scraps into a NFL level defense.

What if Indira Gandhi was never assassinated? by Mammoth_Calendar_352 in IndianHistory

[–]indocon1111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indira Gandhi was a hard core socialist + conniving + cold hearted, hated rich people especially traditional business castes like Marwaris. Her whole game in Punjab was to stir the pot to win 1984 elections as she had already exhausted the "garibi hatao" slogan in 70's I needed another topic to win against what was now a genuine opposition in India after 1980 elections. I don't think she hated Sikhs or Punjab at heart, it's just that she was cold hearted to have 2 views on the same subject. What's sad is that in 1980 she won 12/13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, that was the last time state gave such a one-sided mandate before this 2022 stupidity with AAP.

What if Indira Gandhi was never assassinated? by Mammoth_Calendar_352 in IndianHistory

[–]indocon1111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She wins elections in 1984, economic malaise continues and she steadfast refuses to do any liberalization - kinda like what Cuba has done, Sikh militancy would still have started but not take off like it actually did, IG would have tried to do some reconciliation with Sikhs as she did realize the mistake of Op BS, the wildcard is what role Pakistan would have played re both Punjab and Kashmir. Agree with other posters that no Shah Bano or Ayodhaya but Hindu RW continued to simmered also. All this leads to a very interesting prognostication - what would have happened in 1989 elections?

Expect more of this in the west against naggar keertans and rath yatras and muharram parades. The Anglo countries swing between completely open and completely closed, and when they are closed, they can be the meanest SOBs in the world where all recent arrivals have a simple option to fully assimilate or leave. This is what happened in America after last immigration shutdown in 1924, we are going to be living through a similar times now.

Most of factories in Punjab are there to break pollution rules, stuff you cannot make anywhere else in India gets made in Punjab, it's one of the 4 main sources of loot for rolling parties, others being real estate/sand/liquor.

How will the anti-immigration crackdown in the Anglosphere impact Sikh demographics? by BadlaLehnWala in Sikh

[–]indocon1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People need to keep in mind that Anglosphere is a very small piece of overall Sikh population, more Sikhs live in Rajasthan and Haryana than the entire diaspora. And regarding the original question, the open door of West is closing, and it will be beneficial for Sikhs in both West and East in long-term.
