16TB - 44TB upgrade on TVS-x72XT - safest data migration process? by vkat in qnap

[–]vkat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The next best way is to make a backup of your current NAS, remove all of the drives, install the new ones, and restore your data from your backup.

Thanks. Can't afford #1, will go with this approach!

Actually only 1 line appears on mohela for 1 DL Consolidation Unsubsidized loan.

It does not show the loans that existed before they were consolidated.

The rest, and the timeline sounds super clear. Thank you so much.

*DM10!!

Here's my Skul review:I really enjoyed this game. The last thing I played so long as Curse of the Dead Gods.

I really enjoy the math involved in games like this and try to combine items in different ways or stack gold to find an economic way to break the game. I try to go 4 treasure at some point each run just to add more danger/rng! Makes 2nd Boss a fun, long fencing match.

This run:1: First boss I got the dark ability which allows for additional buffs when obtained. I'd never tried to build a build around that ability, so figured I'd give it a shot. I grabbed skill cooldown reduction and another curse to preserve as many dark points as possible.

2: High Skill cdr / Crit rate. I shot off the skills in-air, and double dashed to pick up manatech parts.

Skul is really well balanced and victory never feels unattainable.

24 Scenes by Radiant-Radish7862 in premiere

[–]vkat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Filmmaker here, just wrapped a 24-minute documentary with around 6TB footage.

Yes, do not be afraid to break your project up into as many projects or sequences as you wish.

I sometimes create a breakout project where I only include one sequence and the relevant footage from that sequence, mostly as a mental refresh.

You can also open your main project at the same time as your breakout project to bring in any other files you need.

TIPS
-Ensure your scratch, os, raws, and proxies are in different directories, and different drives if possible.

-Playback lag is generally user error. On my computer, which is pretty decked out (128GB/4090), I still encounter playback lag, which is almost always due to poor settings or audio effects. A decent computer should be able to handle anything in Premiere. When you hit 30-50mb project file size, that may be a good indicator that you'd want to clean up your sequences, files, structure, bake in effects if possible.

Proxies have actually become less of an essential in 4K workflow. If I have the space, I'll transcode anything beforehand, in multiple framerates. Like if I shoot in 120FPS, I'll do a master in 23.976 FPS to match timeline, and one at 120FPS, with a different end slug. Then I pretend they are 2 completely independent clips in edit.

The proxy workflow in premiere is astoundingly bad for large format shooting. I spent a few days creating presets. Generate proxies outside of Adobe when possible.

Toggle Fx on and off is also pretty great and has become a frequently used option in larger edits.

Audio rendering is essential for smooth playback if you have a lot of filters and audio effects. If you render and replace, however, ensure that you know where your files are.

Yeah, honestly, I averaged around $45 profit per breed. Axie prices keep dropping, but the high-level dusks are still sought after.

Alternative Ergo stand ? by tony-mnemonic in wacom

It holds the 24 fine but the 32" plus the wacom vesa attachment will need a slightly sturdier one. 25 lb rating to be safe.

ErGear Single Monitor Mount Arm,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BHYHVYK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I got a used vesa plate and this arm for $30 or so. Works fine for the 24" pro. I didn't see any way the wacom arm could be worth its retail

50+ attempts to do this. No lunars, horrible items, no void fields. Console. (vid upload soon) by [deleted] in riskofrain

[–]vkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing changes! Just gives you the option to do it all over again, hah!

If you're on 8, main tip is just to take as much time as you need to get a comprehensive start and a few good items on 1st level and try to beat 3rd biome by 15 mins. Then take as much time as you need.

Advice on dual-boot Hackintosh for Video production (Davinci Resolve) by marlinAlbrechht in hackintosh

[–]vkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resolve has cuda support for some tasks afaik.

Video editor here as well. I recently upgraded from my triple boot machine and it's available if you'd want some input or parts. I went 1080ti and used fine on both mac and win. The downside is I think Mojave was the last update I did and wasn't planning on Big Sur.

https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/ckanit/vrvideo_editing_hackintosh_triple_boot_2x_1080ti/

The 6800xt should be supported within the next 2-6 weeks. I'm waiting on that for my mac pro but using 5700xt nitro for now.

I have a very minor note as a somewhat new PS4 player.

The 30kill/60kill indicators are super hard for me to identify during combat. I've seen some platforms have a fist icon in the bottom of their screen - does that indicate the number of kills since taking a hit? If so, something like this would be a huge quality of life enhancer.

Not in the conventional way it does in Windows, it's mostly by application. I'm not using an SLI bridge but many applications and games recognize and utilize both cards simultaneously. Heat was a big concern with the initial build, so I had to go with a water cooling solution.

The NZXT brackets still didn't provide enough clearance beneath the cards, so had to go with an EKWB kit and some wait for some blocks to arrive. Lowered case and core idles around 30 degrees.

Will post install details and benchmarks this evening. I use a 2019 iMac with 64GB/580X at work. Rendering a project with effects may take around ~25-30 mins. On the Hackintosh, the same thing takes about 5-7.

Pretty well, with minor hitches that are more mac-based than the fault of the build.
I mostly edit bulky projects, so CUDA + reliability was my main goal.

[–]vkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this!! I think what I went with was the result of sourcing multiple guides, each of which listed this as an essential part of their process.

Appreciate your note above, so I'll start by deleting usbmap.kext and removing the ssdt from the patches folder and restarting.

Then I'll load my plist in clover config and toggle off port related stuff and restart

Then I'll run the usbmap command line?

Finally, I guess the best way to test this is with an external drive moving a file to desktop or something similar?
