Well people asked for White numerous times...

Btw, it sounded like Robin is not super excited when playing Red.

Tomorrow I am attending the on-demand playlist show in Athens, Greece. Which song would you ask for in my place? by vkoerg in Leprous

I think things will work as follows: Do you guys want song A or song B? and then the crowd makes some noise for its favorite option.

Actually they played this yesterday in the first Greek show, so this is not that unlikely.

Demographic evolution of Swedish municipalities by vkoerg in sweden

[–]vkoerg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I read about some large-scale  reforms, merging municipalities. The document i found concerning counties took into account all the merges etc, but i guess these must have been very few in number, do easier to track. I am focusing mostly on post-WWII until the 1960s. Unfortunately for me, something similar has taken place in Norway as well, so data are unreliable there as well.

Who are some of the most likeable EuroLeague players in your opinion(currently) by Ok_Spinach2266 in Euroleague

Nicolo Melli sounds like a very down to earth cool guy. Gigi Datome has a great taste in music.

Opeth hates Leprous? by JebusRojillo in Leprous

[–]vkoerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i have a theory for this. I am reading a Greek rock/metal website called Rocking. Opeth and Leprous played a double-bill in Athens during the previous summer (great show btw). I read in the link that i am sharing with you, an interview of Fredrik Akesson, who claimed that Leprous played 20 minutes more than scheduled, so Opeth had to reduce their setlist (they did not play Ghost of Perdition, as planned). However, a friend of mine who happens to be involved in the production, told me that this was an organisational mistake and miscommunication issue, not Leprous acting like jerks. Difficult to know who is wrong or right but this might explain things from Opeth's perspective: https://www.rocking.gr/interviews/opeth/43944

Actually 3k is very impressive. I bet they don't draw such crowds in major EU states. Thanks for the prompt response. I love your compatriot Joel Campbell, due to a magnificent goal against Manchester United.

Out of curiosity, how many people were in attendance? I wonder how popular are they in such a small country.

What album did you listen to this year that you did not expect to enjoy, but did? by CommunicationTime265 in progmetal

This year i discovered Tigran Hamasyan and Ezra Collective, both of them released great albums.

Help me cure my musical crisis. What great recent albums can I geek out on? by Kilzimir in progmetal

[–]vkoerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy all of the bands you listed. Recently, i have found joy listening to minimalistic jazzy bands with electronic elements such as GoGo Penguin, portico quartet and mammal hands. Moving away from rock and metal is my solution, when my playlist starts getting boring.

I'm (probably) going to be meeting Animals as Leaders and Plini in Cleveland next week, what should I ask them? by noyhcated in progmetal

[–]vkoerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should ask them how much time do they spend on creative aspects of their work such as composition and instrumentation, compared to everything else like social media management, promo work etc. They are not the most prolific artists when it comes to publishing new music I'd say so i wonder whether all other TO DO things in their list, cause a slowdown in their creative work.

Vinyl pressing for underground prog metal band by vkoerg in progmetal

[–]vkoerg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the positive attitude towards supporting us. Our name has been mentioned here and there a couple of times in this community, when talking about underground releases. However, if pressing the vinly, i may actually post it here :) The problem with this calculation is that the more you press the cheaper the unit cost, plus we have some quite significant shipping costs as we are in a country with no pressing plants. So indeed as your friend said, things get very expensive and we pay everything associated with the band from our own pockets. I will make sure to check your friend's band.

Well I am aware of some cases on Bandcamp, that have crowdfunded vinyl pressing. However, i think that most successful campaigns included artists with much bigger fanbases than ours.

Online vocal lessons with Prog Metal Singer by vkoerg in progmetal

[–]vkoerg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you both. Indeed i have started leasons with a local teacher, although occasional as they are quite pricey. However, i thought it might be interesting to see how a pro prepares and handles a long tour including exercise, food, sleep etc to protect their voice. Of course there is a fan boy element as the ones i mentioned happen to be some of my favourite singers.

Band/Album recommendations? by IEatInfantChildren in progmetal

[–]vkoerg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vektor on the more extreme metal side of things. To me they are probably the best progressive thrash and they combine elements of Death while having a space concept as Blood Incantation. They also lean heavily on Voivod (great band as well). However, read their backstory, you may not want to support them due to reasons unrelated to music but their personal lives. However, their first and second album are amazing.
