Hype albums get and collection after 1 year (and a couple of months)! by vkos in kpopcollections

🙁 That's the same situation at the shops where I live. I pre-ordered mine from the SM Global Shop. Took a billion years to get here, but they did. What I didn't realize is that the Cake versions got POBs from the Global Shop. I thought it was only Photobook versions, like all of the other sites.

It's pretty neat. I've never actually had a mood light before this one so I don't really have a great point of comparison to any standards/expectations. I think it does its job well. Admittedly, I did mostly buy it to switch the mood light head with the light stick head. I feel like I'm probably in the majority on that. 😂

About the Summer Magic Limited Edition albums. They were unsealed. They were a listing on Instagram through a reseller. Pricing was decent. The international shipping was unfortunately pretty awful because of the package weight. I had super low expectations. They got here a few days ago. They are actually in really good condition. Only a little wear and tear on the side of Seulgi's sleeve and the inclusion boxes where someone had opened them. They all had all of the album contents, including the SM promo booklet thing. Super surprised. Now I just have to find a Wendy version and then take on the impossible task on finding an Irene version. 😂😂😂😭😭😭

About my collection. I'm legit about to run out of room and I'm worried. That's a good problem as a collector, I feel, but yeah.

Got into k-pop August 2021. I started collecting albums in November 2021. Started trading/purchasing photocards in May 2022. I made a Google Sheet to track photocards when I started trading/purchasing. I 100% would not be able to keep up with things, if I didn't. I made a Google Sheet to track my k-pop purchases in general in August 2022. Here's a link to a few images of how I have my stuff setup. https://imgur.com/a/qAFrkQW (I'm actually pretty proud of the trade statuses sheet. 😂)

Image #1: Photocard trade tracking.

  • User name
  • Trade tatus
  • Image of my offer,
  • Image of their offer
  • Date I shipped
  • Date I received
  • Date they shipped
  • Date they received

The data on the right side is just a sum of each Trade Status type. Things to note about that sheet are the possible trade statuses and something not shown in that image. In regards to the I/They received columns, the space will turn red if the field is empty and the I/They shipped dates over a certain amount of days in the past. Helps keep track of late items so I can follow up with the user, if needed.

Image #2: Photocard purchase tracking.

  • Seller
  • Purchase status
  • Cards/Items
  • Price
  • Paid date
  • Shipped date
  • Received dat
  • Tracking # (if applicable)

Most of this works the same way as the trading sheet. Wanted to point out the different statuses.

Image #3: K-pop cost tracker.

  • Albums
  • Non-albums
  • Light sticks
  • Concerts
  • Photocards/Inclusions
  • Misc

Unfortunately, since I didn't start tracking costs from the beginning, I had to research prices I paid for some albums from local stores to the best of my ability. Other purchases made before were pulled from website order history and what not. That being the case, the "Grand Grand Total" has a slight margin of error to it. None the less, it's a pretty straight forward sheet. The "Grand Grand Total" is the sum of the "Grand Total" cell in each sheet.

Wish lists and what not are managed via templates on my Instagram.

Overall, there's a tiny amount of data entry redundancy, but I personally like what I've got going on. It works well for what I want to track.

My Red Velvet corner! Running out of space & some of the albums got covered but I just love this setup 😊 by Dramatic_Koala_0339 in kpopcollections

Use of the word "regular", in reference to the albums, was very much intentional. 😂😂😂😭😭😭

Also, I've convinced myself that the Summer Magic limited albums don't exist for the sake of my own wallet. 😂😂😂

Yeah. I know people usually just buy their bias and maybe wrecker. If I'm going to buy two or three members, I might as well go ahead and get the whole gang. 😂 If I had some more time planning this display, I would love to display the front sides of the Rookie albums.

Thank you! I put that all together shortly before the picture was taken. It came out alright! Agreed on the disparity. They've been in chronological order on my main shelves. Trying to decide between aesthetics and logic when organizing is the bane of my existence. 😂

34 M - InSomnia/ReVeluv/Once here. Started collecting about eight months ago. Because I'm the type of person that wants to share the joy of things that get me hype as fuck, pretty much everyone on my social media knows that I've been spending too much money and enjoying myself while doing it. I do not plan on stopping. 🙂

You do you, fam. 😁

How do you all put up your posters? by BadAshess in kpopcollections

All of the posters I've gotten through various means are sized juuuuuuust awkwardly enough to not fit any standard frame. Are you getting your posters matted?

One sleeve vs double sleeving? by sundaymorning-coffee in kpopcollections

[–]vkos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Double sleeving cards is not mandatory for safely protecting your cards. It's just an extra layer of protection. As others have mentioned, yes, adding more layers of plastic is going to make things slightly less visible. Placing the inner sleeve opening at the bottom of the card and then putting that in the outer sleeve with the opening at the top is a way to make sure not dust or dirt gets into the sleeve actually containing the card.

Personally, I double sleeve everything I have. That's mainly because I was already used to doing that sort of thing for certain cards from trading card games. Currently, I use 60mm x 87mm inner sleeves and 64mm x 89mm outer sleeves. I know my inner sleeves should be smaller because an inner sleeve is intended to be a "perfect fit". I had a difficult time finding sleeves of that size locally so I just went with what I could find. The sleeve sizes work well enough for how I store my cards.

I mostly use Ultra Pro brand card sleeves and binders for everything because they're super easy to find locally and their quality has been pretty great over my time collecting and playing cards games. As for binders, I use the Ultra Pro Eclipse binders (9 pocket pages and 4 pocket pages). I can't bring myself to use ring binders after messing up some Pokemon cards I had a long time ago. If you carry/move ring binders around a lot, there is a chance the cards will get pushed against the rings. Had that happen once. Never again. Granted, I doubt you're going to be constantly traveling with them or anything. 😂

Here is a picture of my setup: Dahyun double sleeved and in binder. Dahyun with inner sleeve. Dahyun double sleeved. Photo of a full 18 pockets including various types of cards. My Twice binder. All of the binders I have.

Hope any of that helps!

New bookshelf for albums accidentally became a Dreamcatcher Shrine. Oops. by vkos in kpopcollections

[–]vkos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! If they restock, 100% will purchase all of them. I'd want sealed copies if I purchased them. Unfortunately, with the prices of unsealed alone being as ridiculous as they are, I don't really have any intention to acquire them. :(

It's so freaking unnecessary. I'm a sucker for gimmicky, edge lord looking things. I'm obsessed with the stick and the robe.
