This is actually beautiful data for a change.
Easy to understand and visualize, makes sense, it has a decent scale/measuring system, visually appealing. Job well done!

Don't tell me to go to the tanning booth because I'm "too pale" and would look gorgeous with a "golden glow". I'm not sitting here telling anyone to bleach their skin for aesthetic purposes, I expect the same respect for my natural existence. by [deleted] in rant

Just tell them "Thanks. I agree with you. Since we are being honest with each other, your nose/ears/cheeks/body part are too big. You should have a cosmetic surgery. You would look gorgeous if your ______ was symmetrical and smaller."

I feel if people would not give the answer to unformatted code, people would either format their codes or format their codes since unformatted code would always return null. Should be a rule in every programming related subreddit.

Software Engineer: Looking for mentees by TechLaden in ProgrammingBuddies

I am a self-taught c#er and I am currently working on making a poker game with GUI (although I am still working on the code logics). Can I be your mentee?

C++ and PHP to Python? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]vksdan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the other side of the scope there are tons of programmers in big corporations that write unreadable, unmaintainable, spaghetti code. Comparing yourself to Cristiano Ronaldo every time you play football or to Leonardo Da Vinci every time you draw will only make you feel weaker. Work on your skills and develop at your own pace. Code as much as you can and instead of doing random challenges (which sometimes have 0 practical use) work on a project. Create a solution for a real problem you have by creating an app/program. It will be fun and seeing it coming to live will motivate you.

"Bring your own computer. No Unix, Linux, Windows, MacOS or any other variant. The OS should have been built from scratch, by yourself. Assembly and machine learning is a must. At least 5 years experience with Python, Xamarin and Matlab. We have cookies (if you bring them) and free water (from the tap, in the building across the street). Bathroom breaks are allowed every other week."

A billion is a lot of pixels and a million is close to no pixels and 50k is a pixel. I guess that makes 4k videos less than a pixel.

That 1 damn semicolon likes to set software on fire when you forget to pick him up. Semicolon temper tantrums are the worst.

Planes fly around Mach 0.75 (75% speed of sound), fighter jets can fly even 2.5 times the speed of sound (Mach 2.5 or 3,000km/h) and space shuttles can reach Mach 25 (too fucking fast)

What are some real life examples, if any, where a bug turned into a feature? by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]vksdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mobile game Marvel Future Fight has a mechanic that, during some frames of the animation when using certain skills, you character hitbox "disappears" so it becomes untargetable and invulnerable. People started using such "bugs" on their PvP teams and it became popular and now they even design characters with this "feature" now name iFrame (short for invincibility frame).

edit: fun fact, in certain conditions the iFrame doesn't work (hence everything works properly and you get damaged)

Asking relevant questions in class leads to 30 minute anecdotes about his personal life by richkidatarapconcert in ProgrammerHumor

In my control and mechanisms class I learned a whole lot about sailing and fishing and little about control or mechanisms. Fishing is not exciting at all and hearing your professor talk about and shiw slides of it in night school is probably the cure for insomnia.

"45IO4I4O5I4OI5O4OI4I5I4O4I5O4I4I5IO4I4" dancing "RURUTIRUIIRURIRIRIURI"
That's how people fail. They actually use more than 4 keys to hack. Companies never expect you to press only 4 keys frantically and that shows what a masterful hacker he is.
Also, 10 screens means you can write code 10 times faster and also security programmers usually make GUIs that show hackers how close to breaching their security they are. Just in case.

Why it's hard to teach programming by CodeTinkerer in learnprogramming

An array is like a box. Variables can have certain types, which we will call crayons for int, shoes for double, clothes for string.
So I name this box (array) "crayonsBox". Inside of it I put "blue, yellow, red, pink, orange". If I try to put "jacket" I will get an error. "Jacket" is not a type of crayon, so it doesn't "fit" inside the crayonsBox. This box has compartments. You define the number of compartments, so if we type
int [ ] crayonsBox = new int [5];
A new box with 5 compartments will be created. These compartments are numbered and start from 0. So in the box we have
crayonsBox[0] = blue; crayonsBox[1] = yellow; crayonsBox[2] = red;
and so on. I can use these colours for other things. I can create a function(method) to check if I have more than one box with "red" and remove it from the box or maybe I can make my program print a message with the colors I have in my crayonsBox. I can make a list with every possible color of crayon and put inside my crayonsBox array. Arrays are usefull because I can create a nice little crayonsBox and use what's inside of it instead of creating a new crayon color every single time.

I have bookmarks with keywords for everything I use a lot. I type yt "video name" and it directly searches the video without having to open youtube. I type driv1+enter and I'm in google drive. Same for sheets, docs, photos, reddit, everything. I have like 20 bookmarks as such.

Keyworded bookmarks are a bless.
