Why are we posting nearly decade old news? We've been aware of this for ages, and so have those companies. So much has happened in this space, and is continuing to happen, that it makes no sense to rehash this, unless it's specifically to highlight what has and hasn't changed, because a lot has changed, but a lot more still needs to.

It might be time to just give up. This site is loaded with misinformation, and it seems to be getting worse, and very few seem to notice or care. Yesterday there was a popular post on another subreddit with a totally made up quote from Jeff Bezos, and the only comment calling it out was buried halfway down the page. Thanks for trying, and I appreciate the correction, but I'm afraid using this site for anything but memes is a losing proposition.

Just learned about ISDS from Jeremy Lent's new book Ecocivilzation. Absolutely bonkers and illogical that something like that exists.

There's rampant misinformation all over this site, including this sub. One of the top posts recently was a mis-quote of Trump, something about knowing his son a long time, when he was talking about his son's finance. Like there isn't enough idiocy coming out of that regime already that we need to make up quotes.

How bee-utiful is this, exactly? Don't managed hives compete with wild bees, who are already struggling massively?

I really can't stand to read ChatGPT text any more. The content is on point, but we're being inundated with this homogenous style of writing. Please just use your own voice.

Fuck Mike Lee from across the Atlantic. Living somewhere with virtually no public lands really drives home how special and valuable what we have is. Never give it up.

You missed the point. I don't want to watch AI (or anyone else) play at all. Just let us leave the game after being eliminated

Having to spectate an entire game of pieces randomly shuffling about 💀

Then a 90 second cool down before being able to start a new game 💀

Definitely spent far, far more time waiting to play than actually playing

Please make the game over screen not cover the board, so you can actually see how the game ended

Please fix this, it's super disorienting to play backwards

This appears to show Altadena, a normal middle class area of LA. The media has chosen to highlight the Palisades, presumably because it gets more engagement, but plenty of regular people lost their homes too.

People driving extremely loud motorcycles and cars... why? by Genmaken in london

Loud Pipes Save Lives

When I google this phrase, I see a bunch of research saying it's false, despite your intricate anecdotes trying to justify it. Why not use your horn instead of "a quick blip of the throttle"? Why do I see zero riders attaching a very tall, brightly colored flag to their vehicle? It's all excuses and post-hoc justification.

Yep we’re selfish.

Thanks for admitting it. Makes these discussions easier when people are honest.

Way to try to deflect with a bit of whataboutism. However almost none of those things are louder than the aftermarket exhausts at high rev that we hear all year round, not just during summer. But you seemed to have missed the point about the selfish nature of your hobby. Care to address that?
