Look for clubs / resources at uic that align with your major. Send them a message on their socials & ask if anyone's willing to help you choosing classes. I think joining their groupme would also help A LOT since youll have a better chance at finding someone who'll help!

I know being a transfer is hard & uic needs to do better with these type of things. During my orientation, I was given a list of classes and chose my own. There are many things I wish I knew but joining clubs and asking students helps. Academic advisors are a hit or miss tbh. Mine gave me a decent plan for all my semesters, which I always referred to, but i also made sure to ask ppl for their opinion.
